I'm from Japan. I will comment using the translation app. I love the videos you usually post! It's very cute to see the birds relaxing. In this video, I played it with automatic translation subtitles, so I think I got quite useful information for myself, thank you very much~ Please continue to live a wonderful life with cute parakeets, I'm sorry for the long sentence.
I have many kinds of birds - pigeons, doves, quails, chickens, a lorikeet, and of course budgies - but I never knew what these were! Thank you for this knowledge! I’m building a fictional world with realistic angels, and I wanted to link their biology as closely as I could with ornithology, so every little bit I can find about birds helps. This helps me understand my best buddies better too! This was very helpful, cheers ❤️🪶
Thank you so much for this! It makes me super happy. Let me know if you're curious about anything else regarding birds and I'll try my best to answer here :) Imagine angels not being able to fly, or having lots of dander because of pinfeathers, haha!! I would love to know more about your world once you've completed it :)
Thanks for the informative video. I had no idea how feathers were formed or what pinfeathers actually were. Your birds are adorable! FYI "slough" is pronounced "sluff."
Great explanation. My friend was caring for my macaw and my bird was letting her preen her. She asked me to explain the process. You did a great job explaining how to spot the newer blood feathers and to leave that alone. You should also make a video on what to do if a blood feather breaks and bleeds. Since you birds are used to the tweezers it would be easy to pull it our without too much trouble or rhe need of a second person, just pull firmly from the base in the direction of the feather growth.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment!! And for sharing that information! Yes, it is so important to pull in the direction of the feather after firmly grasping the base. I remember once when I got back from the hospital, Cincin chewed his wing pinfeather in half one time and he was bleeding everywhere. I did the exact same thing, firmly pulled at the base, and what a noise he made! But it came out easily and I stopped the bleeding with cornstarch. I can see how terrifying this may be with new bird owners, especially with blood involved!
@@pinfeathersgalore oh I tremble every time my birds bleeding from a feather. They can bleed out so fast. My macaw chews her blood feathers sometimes and made them bleed.
Very informative! I was wondering why you don’t just let your birds just groom between themselves. I thought it was like a beta fish situation where they’d fight but nope they are just lazy 😂 I’m excited to see more of these pinfeather videos 😊
Thank you!! And in response to your other comment for sure from here on I'll make more videos without music, and try to make them longer. Thank you so much for supporting me❤️❤️
Hello!! I didn't in the video! But I def will when I make a video on how to approach the birds with twezers. There's a set of 6 tweezers from Amazon for $13.99, but you can get the exact same set on this new platform called TEMU for only $2-3. It's the 6pc anti static stainless steel tweezers from Kaverme (on amazon). Below is my personal link for TEMU. temu.com/s/U2P2fHnXwB9XTv
This was very informative and interesting, but isnt keeping birds in captivity cruel? Can they have a fullfilled life inside? Are they like dogs in that way?
Thank you so much!! Great question! I believe birds shouldn't be kept in captivity. My birds are all rescues and would have spent their lives in cages if I didn't take them. My birds have free reign of my entire place, free from any predators. I have several places they can fly up to, including a bird tree, and fresh fruits/veggies whenever I have. As budgies are highly intelligent animals, they have to be kept with other budgies and new toys to keep them occupied. In the wild, budgies will spend 99% of their time foraging for water and food, so being in this environment is pretty boring for them, so toys and interaction is super important! Budgies now are pretty domesticated, so it's bad to let them free. Many of them die almost instantly, especially when house cats are in the neighbourhood. They can also quickly die from exposure, lack of food, and cold temperatures (budgies are an arid, warm climate species). I think with enough different treats to eat, different toys, and lots of time to fly around freely, they can have a happy life :)

It wasnt a boring video at all. I loved also the budgie mascot at the start, very creative!
Aaaww thank you!!

Great explanation of pinfeathers! I have a couple of budgies and they don't groom each other very much. Budgies are awesome little birds.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for watching!! I've noticed that too, my budgies don't groom each other that much, choosing instead to nip and each other's tails 🤣

I bet your dance move in the beginning would be a way to communicate with aliens if they are based of birds.
Haha maybe. My dance is pretty bad though😅.
