I went there last weekend and rode this train, what a blast. My 90 year father came with me. We arrived as senior citizens and left as little kids. Thank you si much
I hope there are more railroad entrepreneurs to build more grand scale steam railroads in the United States. We must be like the British who are really steam train lovers.
How often do you need to refuel the engine? It is nice to have a turn table, especially one that is human powered to turn much less maintaince oil and grease to keep it turning freely.
Right, the R&GN was built along the old right of way of the La Crosse & Milwaukee Railroad and is fairly narrow, so there's a turntable at each end, besides the one that services the roundhouse.
Andrew Weldy the locomotive’s independent brakes are straight air but the train uses a similar system to the real thing just at a lower PSI (full release is 40PSI vs 90PSI on the real thing).

Did they ever fix the Bridge that went out?
Yes, they did fix it. A volunteer there said to me “the new bridge is strong enough to hold a fire truck”
Is There a Video bout it? It’s good to Hear that it is fixed.
I'm guessing there isn't enough room for a loop track, hence the use of a turntable?
Right, the R&GN was built along the old right of way of the La Crosse & Milwaukee Railroad and is fairly narrow, so there's a turntable at each end, besides the one that services the roundhouse.
Is it possible to have a 15 inch gauge railroad in your backyard?
Yes. You just need to have a very big backyard. And deep pickets.
*pockets*
Thank you for remaining me, I grew up with 15 inch gauge railroad. We have one at Scottsdale, Arizona.
Is that locomotive using straight air brakes or a more standard brake valve like what full size trains use?
Andrew Weldy the locomotive’s independent brakes are straight air but the train uses a similar system to the real thing just at a lower PSI (full release is 40PSI vs 90PSI on the real thing).
