I have travelled extensively in the Middle East in the mid-70s to end-80s from Iran, Turkey to Yemen, including Egypt and Sudan.
A few comments:
1. I have always wondered about the spelling and pronouncement of Palestinian. There is no letter P in the Arabic Alphabet. So they should be called Balestinians.
2. During the Roman empire in the region, there was a group called Filistine. There were no Palestine people.
3. Arabs of different origins lived in today's Israel.
4. After the peace treaty with Egypt and Jordan, I met many people from different sections of society, both in Egyp and Jordan. I didn't meet anyone who supported the peace treaty. It was only between the respective governments.
5. During my 12 years of travelling in the whole Middle East, I met both muslim and Christian Palestinians. I found the Christian Palestinians were more educated, smart, and intelligent. They were not violent like their Muslim counterparts.
6. I also felt the Arabs kept the muslim Palestinians at a distance. They, as refugees, just stayed and worked in the Arab countries.
7. I have asked many Muslims in Europe and the USA why they never were curious about Gaza, its welfare, its development of infrastructure, etc, how the aid money was being spent. I have never gotten any reply. But they supported Hamas after October 7.
8. Israel, from the beginning of its birth, has been going through wars, fighting terrorists, etc. Still, they have created a modern developed society that is commendable.
Unless the Arabs and the West involve themselves in the Middle East affairs, Israel has to live in anxiety and fight the terrorist all the time. Then that will be a normal life in Israel.
Good Analysis
In 2024, Iran attacked 2 nuclear nations without any repercussion. One attack on Pakistan and two on Israel. Just imagine what they would do once they have the N bomb.

I just want to point out that every major power always describes its enemies as an "existential threat." I challenge you to find a single example in world history of a great power or empire that ever publicly declared that its aim was conquest, not justified self-defense or a noble defense of allies under threat.
