Well as sad as rewatching this season made me. It did feel good seeing that finale again. That was one of my favorite bits as a kid. But this was a good reminder going into this election again. Stay strong everyone.
I still remember waking up the day after the election and asking my parents jokingly if Donald Trump had won - my father looked at me with a dark tragedy in his eyes and said, very gently, "There's still a chance the electoral college could not elect him." But I also remember telling my AP physics teacher how scared I was as a queer person and him telling me that if anyone said or tried to do anything to me, to come to him. That, to me, was a reminder that even our worst impulses can be undermined by simple human empathy and kindness.
My partner at the time texted me while I was in Europe. He apologized and I sat down utterly defeated. I then had to go work for the state department at the embassy where people were celebrating his win. It was just the weirdest day. I had 1 month left on my contract and did not renew it. I couldn't work for Trump. In fact, I left the US and it was the happiest and best decision I ever made.

Last Week Tonight crew. Why does your playlist for this season currently START at episode 30 and do a countdown to Episode 1? Also, since you have to click to proceed because it's for mature audiences, it actually boots you out of the playlist if you start at 30. That's a RUclips thing, not you folks, but since it's combined with the 30th episode coming first it would be fixed if you flipped the order.

They bought the rights for the seasons from HBO, when they where removed from the streaming service for a lot of viewers
