    Great Tutorial Shane, There is so much you can do in Snapseed that I think people underestimate its use and editing power. I am going to try this double exposure with my waterfall photos. As the problem I run into is the long exposure to make the water smooth will also pick up any movement in the leaves and trees around it. So take one photo fast photo with no movement, then one long exposure and blend the two together and paint in the trees and leaves ect.

    At about 7:30 into the video you showed how to undo a mistake. You said "go to the bottom and decrease it to zero". Please provide more detail. I didn't follow that. Do what at the bottom and decrease what?

    • @ShayneMostyn
      @ShayneMostyn  2 года назад

      This is the masking. It will either add to the mask, or remove it from the mask. So when you are painting in at 100% and you make a mistake, decrease it to 0 then paint over the mistake.

    Shayne - I'm curious why you used the MW shot from the Samsung? Didn't your Pixel image (from previous video) come out "better" (no star trails)?

    • @ShayneMostyn
      @ShayneMostyn  3 года назад +2

      Star trails aside, I think the S21U is better than the Pixel. If I shoot at 15 seconds, there are no star trails, but not as much detail, but even then, I still think it has the edge on the Pixel. The Pixel does a great job dont get me wrong and its definitely easier. We are splitting hairs really, the pixel does do a great job. Next time I think I will use it for this type of thing as well mate.

    Thanks mate. Really great. Guess this would also work on your desktop using the auto sky replacement capabilities of Photoshop or Luminar AI and eliminate all that work making the mask. But it wouldn't be created totally on the mobile.

      @@ShayneMostyn I agree. I tried to see if the iPhone Photoshop Express app could automatically select the hill correctly and it did -- but left that terrible white line between the hill and sky, so no good. Since you are using the iPad, you might try Photoshop for iPad. Note that you picked a real easy case to mask, e.g. a truck could be a much harder scene. PS for iPad has some pretty powerful masking tools as illustrated in this RUclips video and could pretty much handle any case of foreground. ruclips.net/video/h8MioLqPZBY/видео.html

      @@schretter1 Thanks mate. Its somethign that Im not sure my thinking it right. I always try to do things with the free apps. There are of course, better ways to do it, but they are not free. Perhaps I need to change my thinking on this. Appreciate the link mate, I had no idea Russell had a RUclips channel!
