며칠 전에 동물 농장 직원이랑 얘기를 할 기회가 있었어요. 강아지를 학대하는 주인으로부터 분리시키는 것이 가장 중요하다고 했어요. 하지만 주인한테 강아지를 강제적으로 포기하게 할 수는 없어요. 특히 직접적인 육체적 학대에 대한 증거가 없이는요. 가장 이상적인 것은 주인으로 하여금 강아지에 대한 소유권을 포기하도록 하는 것이에요. 하지만 주인이 비협조적으로 나오면 아주 까다로워질 수 있어요. 어떤 사람들은 자신의 애완동물에 대해서는 말조차 못하게 하거든요. 현재로서 최선은 누군가를 보내서 둘러보고 어쩌면 주인이랑 얘기도 해보고 어쩌면 주인한테 우리가 그의 재산을 뺏으려는 것이 아니라 강아지가 괜찮기만 바란다는 것을 이해시키는 것이라고 했어요.

I had a chance to talk to someone from Animal Farm the other day. And I was told that the most important thing is to separate the dog from its abusive owner. However, there's no way to make the owner give up the dog especially without any evidence of direct physical abuse. The ideal thing is to get the owner to relinquish ownership of the dog. But that can be very tricky if the owner decides to be uncooperative. Some people don't even let others talk to them about their pets. For now, the best they can do is to have someone come over and take a look and maybe talk to the owner and maybe
help him understand that we're not trying to take away his property. We just want to make sure the dog is OK.

처음에는 its owner로 시작해서 쭉 the owner로 나오는데 이유가 있나요? 그냥 owners라고 일반적으로 말할 수는 없나요?

사역동사는 평소 별 구분없이 쓰고 있었는데, 오늘 make가 약산 force의 어감이 있었다는 걸 다시 깨달았습니다.
그렇다면, 예를 들어,
I worked as a overseas sales manager(representative) for 3 years in the general food maker,
which ability to do win-win with customers.
여기서 make를 쓴건 좀 어색하게 들릴까요?
지금 하신것 처럼 영작을 많이해야 영어가 빨리 늘수있습니다. 조금 자세히 수정을 하면:
I worked as a overseas sales manager for 3 years (x)
I worked as an overseas sales manager for 3 years (o)
*알면서도 틀리는 쉬운것들도 조심해야 어색하지 안습니다.
in the general food maker (어색)
for a food manufacturer (o)
in the food industry (o)
which ability (x)
which an ability (better)
which an ability (best)
과거완료 보단 과거 시제가 더 간단하고 어울립니다.
made보단 helped가 더 어울립니다.
to do win-win with customers. (x)
to arrive at win-win situations with customers. (o)

what made you come to Korea 같은 경우엔 make는 무슨 뉘향스로 쓰인건가요?
샘이 설명하신 것들은 사역의 의미에 관한 뉘앙스의 차이이고, 님의 예문은 원래의 의미인 만들다의 뜻이요.
사역형식은 subject가 직접 하지않고 누구를 강요해/설득해/허락해 등으로 하게만드는것을 기억해야합니다. 그 방식은 make/force/get + 누구 + {(to) do something} 입니다.
you make me {happy} 에서는 {happy}가 동사가 아니므로 사역 문장이 아닙니다. 만일 {elate} 같이 비슷한뜻 동사를 써도 약간 어색한데, 왜냐하면 "나를 강제로 기뻐하게 한다" 라는 뜻이 되기 때문입니다.
What made you come to Korea? 는 질문식이지만 사역으로 맞게 쓰였습니다. 뜻은 무엇이 너를 한국에 오게 했니? My major is in International Studies and part of the requirement for my degree is to spend one semester studying abroad in a country of my choice 정도로 대답할수 있습니다.

The most important thing is to separate abusive owners from their dogs. But there is no way to make them give up the dogs especially without any evidence of direct physical abuse. Even Authorities can not do something. So, the ideal thing is that we try to get them to relinquish the pets but, it would only work out as long as they decide to cooperate. Some people dont even let others talk to them about their pets. So the best we can do for now is that we have somebody come over and take a look at what is happening there and maybe talk to them and hopefully help them understand that we are not trying to take away their properties, all we want to do is to just make sure the dogs are okay

come over는 꼭 은 아니고 입니다.
따라서 have someone come over 은 란 뜻입니다.

제가 이해한대로 답을 하면.. 라이브아카데미 카페에 보니 이 스크립트의 배경(?)이 된 글을 올리셨더라고요. 실제 저렇게 학대되고 방치된 개가 있어서 쌤과 아내분 및 동네분들이 걱정을 하시고 방법을 찾아보시려는 것 같았어요. 그래서 we 는 빨모쌤 포함한 그 분들을 지칭하는 거라고 이해했어요. 그 주인한테 동물농장 직원분이 가셔서 동네분들이 다른 의도가 있는 건 아니고 개가 괜찮은지만 확인하고 싶어하는 거라고 전해줄수 있을 거다 이렇게요.
