Fun fact : Jakads has been first for years, with an insane best play of about 1450PP. Yet, only 35 of his plays are above 1000PP, and only 8 of his plays are above 1200PP, due to lack of map and maybe lack of farm. He even still has an under 800pp play in his top 100! This means that, if there were, just like on Osu normal for Mrekk, a lot of maps he could actually play to get pp, he could without any doubt get rid of any play under 1100PP in his top 100, thus having about an astounding 29K pp, so we all should be glad there's not enough maps and he's not farming lmfao (If you wanna know how I deduced the 29K pp thingy, just know that, if you add every single non-modified pp value of ur top 100, and I do mean the non-modified ones, not the ones affected by percentage, you'll get 4.06x ur current pp amount displayed on the leaderboard. This means that, if you wanna know how much PP someone TRULY as, take their leaderboard PP and multiply it by 4.06. That technique also allows you to check ur "fake" ranking if you had a certain amount of pp.)
I can read most of those patterns but I need to increase my scroll speed(14) to further improve. Currently playing 2* maps for 4-6k (I started with 4k and became comfortable with 5k and 6k). 7k is still tough for me, but playing 6k helps

After a certain threshold, 4k seems to be all about speed which i dont like too much. After 7 years of 4k mania and very little 7k, i finally started to take 7k seriously and it is my main mode now, and im enjoying myself quite a bit more! I could only play 2*-2.5* at my peak skill in 7k so now im practicing every day to try go beyond that, and just an hour or so every day really makes a difference. consistency is key, if only i didnt take so many breaks during those 7 years lol

In my opinion the learning curve of mania is so much harder than standard because the hand eye coordination to look at the patterns and actually click properly is insane to me
As a mania player... Nope, standard is harder because you must also improve your aim and hit properly with the other hand, so the hands and eyes coordination is even harder. I think it's muscle memory kind of thing for any rhythm game modes tbh
To try and get an idea of how hard this is, i tried pretending to play only the first column with my finger while watching and did very badly, and yet here this guy is playing all 7 columns with such percision, wow
