was my fav too because there weren't any of those orange snails. they creeped me out so bad that i kept creating new savefiles that just stopped before the difendo challenge, but when i got to this part, it was aaaalways a treat!
That was one of the very few secrets in this game that I couldn't find on my own. I've had the game since 2004, and I've only known about it for a few years.
@@CeilingFanVideosOnYT There is no 4th secret in that part. I checked in ghost mode and never found it, and looked in comments on other videos and they never found it either. Many people think the lumos areas just before the platform comes crashing down (after you cut the diffindo ropes) was supposed to be the 4th secret, but the game doesn't count it as a secret because it's a glitch.
@@zelgadis115 you should do this game again and run into the characters and listen to all their quotes. Especially the ones in the Slytherin common room before you talk to Malfoy, theres some really funny ones in there.
"Spongify carpets are hidden throughout Hogwarts" Hidden? Dude, we've been noticing them from the first level onwards when Harry and Ron got to Hogwarts. 🤣
For those of you who are wondering how many times Peeves hides in a chest in the game it's 5 times he does it. 1. Skurge challenge Chest #11 (last chest in the challenge) 2. Dungeons beneath the Potions Classroom Chest #7 3. Diffindo Challenge Chest #5 4. Gardens (Where Goyle is hiding) Chest #12 5. Spongify Challenge Chest #15 17:13
Got every single secret, the game still stuck on 15/16. I'm here because I'm a completionist. I'm a completionist because I'm a perfectionist. This makes me seethe like you wouldn't believe
The sound effects not only replenish my lost energy but reignite the flame with which one could have accomplished any feat. A beautiful piece of work ,truly remarkable memories.
Am I the only one who's a bit confused about this games pacing and tone? First, your in the Spongify challenge with happy, colorful music and lots of fun. After the challenge is over, it becomes creepy as heck with the music. Can you imagine if the story was going on while Harry was in the challenge?
It probably was. The thing is, you are as of now not concerning on the main story, you are now concentrating on the Spongify challenge. Which is what the soundtrack is implying.
You know I feel like a jerk right now because of the fact that i missed the bronze wizard card at 16:45, when I played through this challenge an hour ago. Thanks to your walk through i was able to find it, but I can't believe that I was so stupid to miss an easy card like that one!
FYI, neither saving game nor cutscene would use up any time in the timer. So sometimes skipping cutscene would backfire when having to wait for the door to open, etc.
Good in all challenges is fact that You must finish it 2x only.. Unfortunately, "Diffendo" is needed to make 3x. The beans on the ledge in the first area can be picked up on the second pass only (I don't understand why in first round are missing) and this would not achieve the 50-point time bonus
If you think it’s weird to find a secret in a secret, technically there is a secret in a secret in a secret. Secret near Diffindo Challenge has a Lumos gargoyle which is needed to access another secret, which has a switch to door to another secret.
I thought there was a way to jump all the way back up t the top if you accidentally miss. But I can’t do it so i gues the only solution is dying or restarting from last save 🤣
Hey, glad you like it! I really love watching peerless speedruns, but I don't actually enjoy doing them myself, especially if one has to rely on exploiting glitches and so on. I'm more of a completionist, and I love to do a little preparation and then execute my plan, so to speak.
I missed the first two because the gnome glitched and wouldn’t come out of the hole. It happened on replay too so I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it. I also missed the one behind the spiders (do you have to click the flipendo things twice?) for some reason I also cannot jump into the last one so the game didn’t count it as discovered. Btw, do we get house points for replaying challenges, or only when finding previously uncollected stars or maybe by beating the highscore? Slytherin is ONE point ahead of us and I want to go to the bonus room. Maybe quidditch ? :D
Hi, I am playing it right now and I think I can help with some of your questions, although you asked them almost one year ago. 15:38 before you cast the second Flipendo, make sure you stand just in front of it. Then when you cast the spell and the floor moves up, you will stay under the floor and be able to reach the secret. 19:08 this jump was also very difficult for me, I tried it many times. I can do it only if I play with a mouse. After I push the jump button, I move the mouse to make Harry look up while falling. Then he climbes the wall. If he looks down or straight, he falls. It was impossible for me to make this jump when I was playing only with my keyboard. When it comes to housepoints, you get them for improving your score in the challenges, for mastering them, and in Quidditch. If you master each challenge and you win all the available Quidditch matches before you go to the Ceremony, there will be a significant difference between you and the next house. You will have much more time in the bonus room - enough to collect every bean which is there :-)
@@Avanille Thanks! I found some of the answers in the meantime, but I still didn't manage it every time. I think I got to finish the game completely once! :D

The first and third PC games also have irrelevant spells to DADA. In the first PC game, Quirrell teaches you lumos, which is what you'd expect from charms class. In the third PC game, Lupin teaches you Carpe Retractum, which is also more appropriate for charms class (the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube version got this right by having Flitwick teach you the spell).
@@elephant35e Lumos was *defo* transfiguration. Filipendo and Rictusempra *may* count as DADA spells though. Spongify I would defiantly class as charms. Never played the PC version of "Prisoner of Azkaban" so I cannot comment for that, but in the PS2 version, Flitwick the charms teacher teaches you Carpe Retractum whilst Lupin teaches you Glacius (a freezing spell), which to me again is charms.
That what makes DADA classes so useless during the first three books. The classes were more or less jinxed by Voldemort who can secretly manipulate/get in the teachers so ill-equipped to teach it. In the games it seems, *so* inept that they teach completely irrelevant spells to it.
Man I wish that the Harry Potter games kinda followed the style of the first 3 games.
