    Oh this is so wonderful! Thank you so much for putting this up! When I hear this music, I am instantly transported to such happy times -- the old Tomorrowland, in all its terrific motion and interaction. I can feel the somewhat bumpy ride along the Peoplemover track, feel the sun on my face as we glide along above and around, weaving our way and catching glimpses of the monorail sleekly sliding past, and Skyway buckets smoothly gliding above. I can smell the chlorine and diesel from the Submarine Lagoon, hear the Autopia putt-putting, and off in the distance, is that Sunshine Balloon rising up from the Coca-Cola Tomorrowland Terrace? Ahhhh.....Thank you again!

    The music for the WEDway Peoplemover came from the CBS Music Library. These are never appear on the upcoming "Legacy Collection: Disneyland" CD, that's a shame! Disney did not get the rights to these songs from the "Peoplemover".
    Anyways, this would be good for hotels, country clubs, elevators and department stores.

      Sadly we once again aren't getting anything new in the Legacy 60th CD, not even the actual new 60th parade, fireworks or World of Color. I'm very happy I have these tracks since as you said, they are unlikely to appear on anything official.

    • @fivebearrugs
      @fivebearrugs 8 лет назад

      Ah, so that's why none of these tracks were on the Musical History of Disneyland set that came out for the 50th...drat. Too bad they couldn't get the rights to these, or more parades and shows for that matter. We could have had a 12-disc set instead of 6.

    With all due respect! Not many people know that this particular sort of music and genre is called "Production Music" or "Library Music" prerecorded music to suite your production in the field of television, radio and cinema primarily as in royalty free music. And at once your hear, it becomes a seductive cocktail which you keep longing for more simple because they probe a mind to spark our imagination in every possible positive way. The resurrection of the PeopleMover (in Anaheim) is in a near future budget. Insider information. Shhh, don't tell anyone I told you. I'm very, very excited about this! Tomorrowland's skyline has been an empty void for *way* too long. (Now to get the Rocket Jets/Astro Orbiters put back where they belong and take down the hideous brown rock work at Tomorrowland's entrance...)

    • @DannyD714
      @DannyD714 8 лет назад +4

      the rock work is not only unsightly,it's in the way! putting that attraction at the entrance was so stupid.there's always a traffic jam on both sides and everyone walking in both directions around it. they try to direct traffic one way during parades,but it's bad all day.

    Wouldn’t be surprised if these music tracks were originally from the Seeburg industrial series background music records from the mid to late 70’s since Seeburg specifically made background music records for stores, restaurants, office and work spaces. Virtually all Seeburg industrial series background music records from the mid to late 70’s were all destroyed by Seeburg so they wouldn’t be in the hands of the public and simply wanted businesses to return their old records for new ones every so often to make some profit. Since Seeburg went out of business in 1980, all remaining Seeburg background music records are now a public domain since Seeburg can’t claim copyright on those records since they are no longer around. Went off the tracks slightly but thought I’d point that out since Seeburg made background music similar to this.

    I hope that the PeopleMover will not only reopen, but will expand. It was never an "E-ticket" ride, nor was it a thrill ride, but its purpose was as a transport vehicle. The design is such that it starts and end in only one location. So, could they not extend the PeopleMover to include multiple stops ? Say you get on in Tomorrowland, ride it for 5 minutes, disembark in ToonTown, then onto New Orleans Square, and then 3 stops in California Adventure. And while they're at it, why not extend the Monorail so it goes to the Disney parking lots. Guests can pay for admission at the parking lot, board the Monorail, and then get out in Disneyland. Both attractions were meant to showcase alternative methods of transport, so by expanding them, Disney could show how practical they may be. My 2 cents.

    • @sak4aak
      @sak4aak  9 лет назад +1

      Rusty Shackleford Unfortunately, despite what others have said, the ride won't be coming back. Apparently, any new ride would require significant changes to be made to the track infrastructure, including widening the tunnels that go through the current show buildings and making it ADA compliant. I sincerely hope that the figure out something or finally rip it out and end the speculation.

      I'd love to see the Disney people redo Disneyland's People Mover attraction to launch people from the original platform in Tomorrowland into Star Wars land. The park would be able to help with ingress and egress of people to / from Star Wars land by taking the existing track from the back side of the Autopia and past the back of Small World into the Star Wars theme area.

    • @DannyD714

      unfortunately the disney of today has lost touch with walt's original concept of a multi level land on the move. they grounded the rocket jets (astro orbiter) and you even have to hike to ride the monorail and space mountain. no more moving sidewalks. there's no feeling of oneness within tomorrowland. it's a miss match of movie based rides. sad to say,they've given up on the idea of there being a "great big beautiful tomorrow".

      There are multiple issues with them bringing back the peoplemover. They would have to make the track ADA compliant which would make it virtually impossible to bring it back.

    Really love hearing this every now and then. Was just curious: how did you find out who all the composers were? It's really cool to go look them up and hear all their other music. But how did you know that that's who these composers were? I'm just curious.

      @@sak4aak ahh. Decided to post the link to the video since that’s where the familiar tunes of the Peoplemover soundtrack came from. I guess I am now one of those people who hunts down these forgotten tunes of the 60’s and 70’s as well as 50’s. Wish music like this would become more mainstream but the closest thing is royalty free copyright music which has a similar tune/aesthetic to it.

It started with listening to the Seeburg background music records that @drh4683 uploaded back in 2008, gradually started listening to more and more of those types of tunes. I may even use one of the songs from the Peoplemover soundtrack in a video I plan on doing sometime in the near future.

    • @yorgle

      Steve K Understood as for their origin.... So far as I can tell, most (if not all?) of the A-Q cues are composed by Tom Elliot, probably in the 1973-1976 era, from Capitol Records source library. For example, I've found that Cues A and B are actually titled "A Month In Harmony #3" and "A Month in Harmony #5" respectively. (D = "Today's Action #10", G="Industry In Motion #1", I="Industry in Motion #4" ... unfortunately, that's where my sleuthing ends... :(

    Ok, Disney company, RE-BUILD the Peoplemover. In the time that the park has been closed for COVID, the ride could have totally been rebuilt. And please, don’t have some executive box head try to “improve” the old one! That’s how all this mess started. If they could build the original Peoplemover for the N.Y.World fair and AGAIN for Disneyland 1967, THEY CAN do it again. It’s just the DECISION to do so stopping it from happening. I’ll PAY to go back to Disneyland for the Peoplemover, but NOT Pixar stuff. Sorry, but NO!
