@FOL_Freedom Be safe. I never understand why strangers think you owe them. But, perhaps this is what will build your relationship even stronger. I live in a small town. My friend found out his wife was divorcing him from my mother. For real. His wife went jogging with a friend before work. She was going g to tell my friend she wanted a divorce when she came home from work that same day. By lunch the whole town knew. I got phone calls asking how my friend took the news. He had no idea. Hello. I can only speak from my personal experience. I really loved the Philippine nature. It is magnificent. But.. I don't want to go to the Philippines anymore. It is a very dirty country. 2-3 times more expensive than Vietnam or Thailand. You have to pay money for everything everywhere: road fee, terminal fee, entrance fee etc. It is a very humid country during the rainy season, in 2 months all my MacBook and iPhone cables were covered in mold and cracked, all my T-shirts got holes because they were constantly wet. Now we are in Vietnam and we are shocked by how big the difference is with the Philippines. People are kinder in Vietnam. In the Philippines, people are kind to you only because of money. For example, if you don't buy from them, their attitude changes. Vietnam is much cleaner and much greener than the Philippines. In general, I am very disappointed in the Philippines and my girlfriend does not want to go back there anymore, despite the fact that her family is there. The Philippines for her is a prison with a poor population. I am of the same opinion.
Girls in the Philippines are all different too. If you find your soulmate, you'll be happy. But there's a lot of deception and ~70% of girls are only interested in money. There are generally very low human values there - a plate of rice and money.
Classic chisme culture in the barangay. I took my Filipina GF to thailand and, as a teacher in the Philippines, she said it was the first time she felt totally free and anonymous in her entire life.
👍 That's exactly what I'm talking about. I've visited many countries and I know what I'm talking about. I've never seen anything like this anywhere. I'm sure your girlfriend got invaluable experience of wandering around in her own country.
If you help anyone all the others get jealous. A foreigner IS the ATM and amazingly they truly believe you owe them money, period. It’s so disrespectful to the foreigner and they don’t care. Move to a gated community but that helps only a little. That’s the way the world works.
you are absolutely right. everything is so, unfortunately. yes, you need to change your life and place and not think about people who take away energy and nerves. thank you for your opinion, we appreciate it
I was told by my wife never live in a Barangay, because you have to help the whole neighborhood. This is their culture and up bringing. Don't waste your time and money, move NOW. Go to a bigger city with better living. You can't change people, but you can change your environment.God bless you both.
Hello 👋 We already left the barangay. You are right fully. This is our life and we won’t change life there and people. Thank you for your support 🙏 we appreciate you
Hello friend I am from India and my suggestion to you is that pay a deaf ear to what others say and act accordingly to what you feel is the best. The people around her ( Name not known to me) does not provide her with any sort of amenities for her survival .She seems to be a good girl 👧 and if you have any kind of closeness with her please accept her and don't leave her alone because there are wild people there who are ready to eat her flesh and throw. Even God will be in your side. Love you both be a support for each other Ok . Namaste 🙏
Thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right. No need to pay attention to them. Just live our life. Maybe not in the Philippines. Which is what we plan to do. Thank you for your support. We appreciate your concern and wish you the same. You are a very good person. 🤗
Its good you are or have moved. Seems to me the people in that area are all in cahoots with each other. I wish you both the best. By the way, are you both SDA's?
dont let it bother you you cant please every one so just please yourself you will go crazy trying too ,some people are like that always thinking negative because how there life may be ,not all filipins people are like that most of them are good people but some stuck by jealousy because they know her life will be much better if you end up a good person so just be strong and enjoy your life together
Just ignore it and pity them. Gossip is the bloodline of the townspeople. Stay tight and let them see the love and affection you share let them envy you so much for that. Walk the town with pride and with a smile on your face. My wife has a BBQ sometimes in front of our house when we visit and invites the neighbours to come along and help themselves. We live in Melbourne Australia. I am sure some in our town are not so fond of me but they will not say it to my face because I greet them in a positive and friendly way. After I met my wife I was diagnosed with cancer so I put my wife in college while I had treatment and when my treatment was done we eventually married but it took 4 years. Some would say he is never going to marry her I am sure but I could care less, we had our plan. We have been together 16 years and married 12 years. I just felt to marry a beautiful girl and make her a widow a short time after was not a good thing so I waited until my prognosis was good. I made provision for her in my will so her future after college was guaranteed if I did not survive.
you are a very strong human! You are a human with a capital letter. And our story is nothing compared to yours. Thank you for your words. We wish you good health and long life surrounded by your loved ones. Life is an unpredictable thing, unfortunately. All the best to you! 🙏 The main thing is not to despair. Hope dies last. We will pray for your health.
Thank you very much ☺️ I am very pleased. You are right. Not many Russians speak English. I started learning it when I worked in Korean and Chinese companies. And I lived in America for 7 months. I am not shy about speaking, although my English is very far from normal)) It's a matter of time. Thank you for your assessment, we value your opinion 🤗
@gotaplay no))) in reality very few Russians speak English. And speak with very hard accent. )) unfortunately it’s true. Because in Russia very strong propaganda about America. And very bad education of English in schools.
@@FOL_Freedom my mother was born in a small village near Rostov , my father in Ukraine ..yes in rural area's English is rare But larger cities /younger people its not uncommon and Da to the strong accent 😂😂 😂

I had similar experience It's crab mentality Or tall poppy syndrome I can see it bringing you both together more to protect your relationship use it for yourselves to bond Your on right path Wish you both strength and happiness Don't try to understand it because it doesn't make sense Use it to grow stronger together
Thank you for your words. You are absolutely right, it is pointless. They will never understand because they have never seen anything except the village. And they think that their opinion is the most correct and the only true one.

im also an expat married to a filipina, im raising her two children as if they are my children. i would advise you to move to a city, like cebu city. the people will not be so interested in your business, not so much chika chika. you will like that better, plus you will have malls, schools, hospitals,etc... good luck to you both.
Thank you for your kind words. We are going to do just that. I agree with you, they are just children and we should treat them like our own. We started collecting documents for marriage ☺️ But it is a very long and complicated process in the Philippines. Thank you. And we wish you all the best and good health
You gotta be nuts. Rule number one, never get with a single mother but no, you didn’t get that memo I see. Don’t worry, in a coup,e years when your cash slowly dries up we’ll hear your story on “the Philippines truth” YT channel where we can all laugh at another failure. No way in hell would I deal with that, you have more value in another country and with a woman with no kids or at least with kids that’re successful and on their own so they won’t suck you dry financially.
in your opinion, should the problem be hidden? And I have the right to talk about it without violating the rights of others. Whose rights and of which persons have I violated?
You need to get married legally and do what you need to to be financially stable. It will take a year to get everything done for your marriage and with immigration.
Privyet ! WHen someone in the village come to her home to ask to borrow money, Beth your phone out and record them! I think the people starting the Chiss miss ( gossip) are they ones you have said " No " to when coming and asking for money.
Privet 🤗😁 You are right, it is mostly those people. Good idea with the phone, but it would probably be better to just change the place and not pay attention to the narrow-minded people. You need to be above them and value yourself. They are not worth it. Anyway, thank you for the advice. We appreciate your support
you always get that when you are married to a foreigner..i got that too when i married my Australian Hubby..lots of crab mentality people back home..just egnor them..
thank you for your comment. You've been through it and now we've experienced it ourselves. You're right, it's crab mentality and it's happening all over here. We need to ignore them. 🤗
Ah, the crab mentality. Always remember what you do with a crab--a pot of boiling water. Be sure to tell these folks they've earned their karma when they reach out to you with the "ate, I need your help..." messages on social media someday--after hearing nothing from them for years. If you are planning to live aboard, it'll mean nothing in due time. My wife has been with me here on the east coast of the U.S. for over 7 years and all that nonsense is basically forgotten.
Thank you for your warm comment. I didn't know what crab mentality was but now I read about it and it completely characterizes the people here. And that's why I'm going to take my girlfriend out of this country just like you took your wife. So that she can see normal life and normal human relations. Thank you for your comment.
Russians here in Costa Rica often experience similar to you. Again, jealous, uneducated people. Once you have a longer time together, things will calm down. Gossiping favorite pass time in many poor countries. Just ignore them. 😊😊😊
Both you and your gf should either move to a bigger city,or move out from the Philippines!! My husband is Pinoy( Filippino) and i am a foreign woman. We live in Makati and we just keep to ourselves! Its much better, as we dont want everybody to be nosey and into our private lives!!!
Hello. You are right, we need to change places. It will be calmer and safer. Maybe we need to change countries. Thank you for your comment. We need to stick together and not pay attention to others.
Here’s a summary from another RUclips video. You can’t do anything about small village mentality. Better to leave. The video discusses some of the toxic traits and mentalities that are common in Filipino society, as observed by the narrator. These include: 1. Crab mentality - the tendency to pull others down out of envy or jealousy rather than supporting their success. 2. Importance of status and social standing - there is a strong emphasis on having prestigious jobs and titles, rather than focusing on personal fulfillment. 3. Pressure to provide for and support one's family - children, especially eldest daughters, feel obligated to prioritize their family's needs over their own goals and aspirations.
everything is absolutely correct and to the point! 👍 The only thing I would like to add.. It is normal to help parents! But it should not turn into a business. You can spend your whole life on such help, without having your own life. But at the same time, the debts will only grow. I see it every day. People live from loan to loan.
My gf was the first born and basically used like a door matt for the rest of the family. And I actually suffered that fate from my own toxic mother here in Australia. And I really didn't wake up to myself until my mum was virtually dead. That's how well they condition and control our minds from childhood 😢
Ignorant people will judge any Filipina if she is with black or white foreigner going out together and gossip like what happened to Sheila. That's why few girls will avoid going out with foreigner in their province. But it also happens in USA Same mentality. We experienced it too cause my husband is white. Ignore these trolls or haters and go on with your life.
You are right. We just did not expect such an attitude from the people with whom I lived all my life. Also, Sergey has never encountered such an attitude, although he has visited many countries and lived in some for a long time. Thank you for your support. We will try not to pay attention to this.
It's disgusting how crude and cruel people could be. I spend a month with my wife in Cebu ( not on paper it was completed but we did not pay the bribe) I slept by her side every night but she is catholic and already we have two daughters. She is 41 I'm 66. I support her but will probably never see her and my daughter because USA say I don't have enough money. I own my home in US and support them till I'm no more.❤ Not Eveything I'd about sex. I haven't had sex in over 45 years. I was a solider and a long haul trucker. I never wanted a prostitute because I feel sad in my heart for them and despises the lack of respect of my fellow man. Sorry judgemental People but sometimes your wronge. ❤
maybe we are wrong about something. We just wanted to tell our story about relationships between people. We wish you all the best. and believe that everything will be fine in your life. thanks for your comment 🤗
For you guys to have peace and stress free move to another province and start over again. Don't tell neibors your business only small talk if they come to you
You said you didn't know what to change. Change your location. There are many places to live in and out of the Philippines. Thailand has better food infrasture and cheap accommodations for instance.
Go to Samal Island in Davao there's a lot of Russian people living there.Their is a Russian Village their bring Shiela with you. Try to watch a Russian vlogger Filipinez he is Andrie.
100% you are right. I always tell Sheila the same thing. And she also does not want to return to the Philippines when she flies away. Adult Filipinos sincerely do not understand and complain that their children do not come from abroad, and if they do, then after one day at home they rent a house in Panglao and end their vacation there
If having a Russian boyfriend turned you to a prostitute, then I disagree. It's a shame that fellow filipinos think like this. For example, I got lucky and accidentally got Russian girl friend, will you call me or my Russian girl friend a prostitute?
A barangay in those small remote provinces is like a large clan/family (you said it yourself). If you choose to live there you will be expected to contribute toward the welfare of the clan. If you are not doing that you will be ostracized. Western societies are very individualistic while Asians are more communal. Try to become more involved in activities of the barangay. Assimilate. If you don't want to do that then just move to a bigger town where nobody knows their neighbor and people mind their own business.
ok. Thank you for your comment. I would like to note that I have been to South Korea, China, and Thailand and have never seen or heard of anything like this. and here in the Philippines, I have not seen people making any contribution to the common cause. everyone does their own thing. for example, the guys who make furniture spend money on themselves, tools, and buy wood. but they do not give the money they earn to anyone
@@FOL_Freedom Assimilate to social norms not just financial expectations. For example, while living together while not married is not a big deal in Manila or Olongopo, it is still taboo in the provinces. I suspect that is why your girl is called a "prostitute".
We didn't live together! We met for the first time then and then I had to fly away. After that, they started calling her a prostitute. How can you get used to that? It can't be called a social norm. It's far from normal.
Take your girlfriend and move to a better area when your around toxic people that will have affect on your relationship. Be happy with your woman regardless of what other people think.
Just don’t forget that she and her family lies about everything, and I mean everything! They’re very concerned about loosing face or getting embarrassed.
@@FOL_Freedom it’s okay, I know you don’t want to answer the topic like an adult. Go eat some pagpag and you’ll feel better. No way in hell would I ever go to the PI or deal with a filipina. The Filipino soldiers I worked with in the US Army we’re low IQ pussies and completely inept, almost like having a child in an adult body.
Just ignore all that. It's like a stay home mom in the West - bored so she starts non sense. In Ph, a lot don't work so they're bored so they assume & talk non sense. IT'S A LONG STORY so just ignore & maybe say hi & how are you if they pass by. THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT OVER TIME.
Thank you for your advice. You are absolutely right. I send greetings to Philadelphia)) I was there 3 years ago, after Philadelphia I lived in Trenton, then New York and Los Angeles))) I miss America very much)) I am well acquainted with American life. Thank you for your opinion, we really appreciate it. 🤗
Well people have a negative view of Russians because what Russia did to the nice people of Ukraine. She’s a beautiful lady and sweet move out of the area give her a nice life.
Thank you for your opinion. Of course, we need to change our own lives. People cannot be changed. As for Ukraine and Russia... I think that in order to have an opinion, you need to ask a person about his attitude to what is happening. For me, the death of people and the actions of Russia are unacceptable and I do not support this. We value any of your opinions, everyone has the right to it.
@@FOL_Freedom that is why so many people have left Russia. They’re unhappy with the actions of their president. I think peace is the way to go. Everyone deserves to live in peace. Thailand has a lot of Russians that have moved there. You’ll have a nice life in the Philippines. The woman are amazing.
To those comments about Russia and Putin, he has a 90% approval rating form his people, they love him dearly. My suggestion is to turn off the tv and start using the skill of critical thinking to prevent brain washing.
@@NoComplience you are 100% wrong but this channel is not the place to argue about Putin , ask the widows and mother who lost their husband/sons how they feel .
of course not.)) She had no relationships before me. It's just that when I flew to her for the first time for 2 months, I had to fly away later. And everyone started calling her a prostitute.
You can't even imagine how difficult it is. You need a huge amount of documents, evidence and confirmation of relationships, etc. This country does not care about people, it just makes money on them.
@GerinPhils in reality it is very difficult. unfortunately.. this is the craziest country i have been to. but with amazing and very beautiful nature which i love
@@FOL_Freedom There is a huge problem of trafficking Asians under 25 years age. International pressure for a lot of checks. Why would a Russian take away a young lady without marriage and parental consent?
@@FOL_Freedom Its common Imature Filipino jealousy towards your wife for having a white faced partner. Dont waste your time trying to understand it. Filipinos gossip! Move to another area away from your wifes barangay.
@@FOL_Freedom Filipinos are jealous for what someone else has and they want. You have a White face and that alone creates jealousy. They think all white faces are rich in general. You are best off moving away from the family unfortanately.

Most likely we will do so. But flying out of the Philippines is a huge problem, since immigration does not allow the girl to leave the country. You need to spend a lot of time, effort and money to fly somewhere. And this is unfortunately only in the Philippines. Residents of other countries can freely leave the country and they do not need to pay any kind of tourist tax upon departure. I did not know much about the Philippines and now I am very disappointed.
@@FOL_Freedom Wasn't that expensive in 2017. a CENOMAR, a couple of classes and there is a tax at the airport, but it wasn't outrageous. I know it was well under $100 at that time, not cost-prohibitive.
Please don't generalize Filipinos or the Philippines based on her story or from anyone's story. There are a lot of good people here, and I'm new to your vlog. It seems you are now full of negativity about Filipinos compared to before... before meeting her. Every person, no matter what nationality, has unique experiences, unique culture, unique perspectives, and unique personalities. You can definitely listen to her, but see for yourself the truth. She only speaks for her experiences. She doesn't know every Filipino. Our country is far from perfect, but there is a lot to be proud of. There may be some culture, like the "marites" thing or gossip, but most of the time, it's really how you take it or how you deal with people. Sometimes they could be mean. Again, being mean has nothing to do with nationality. Some are just joking, or some are just really concerned and tend to use tough words to keep loved ones from what they believe could be a potential harm, just like "pamamalo" or hitting to discipline a child. But these "marites," the gossipers in a barangay, are the downside of Filipinos feeling too concerned and too acquainted with each other, but they are also the same people that work together and can be relied on during misfortunes. Sorry for this. I just hope you, especially your girlfriend or wife, embrace more positivity, fortune, and freedom with life. Godbless♥
That's right. When I was researching the Philippines, I found only positive information. That's because 99% of expats and RUclipsrs don't live among local Filipinos. They live in hotels, rent houses and interact with Filipinos only in shops, bars, diving and other entertainment. When it comes to money, Filipinos are very friendly. But we live in an ordinary Filipino village and that's completely different. If you read expats who have lived the same way, an ordinary Filipino life, all our words will be confirmed. I did some preliminary research because I thought the problem wasn't in the people, but in ourselves. But no. Americans, Germans, Australians are of exactly the same opinion. Unfortunately. You can check it yourself, but I'm sure if you come to the Philippines, you'll live in a hotel or apartment.

What type of relationship you two are doing now? if it is about love then do not marry if you think that is how love is... Thanks for sharing how you meant about love. You said about using your oil. Maybe its like how you are using the daughter of a husband and wife... Please ask if her parents are married then maybe you can learn from it.
Thank you for your comment. As for our relationship.. We have a serious relationship. We will not use someone else's experience, because we have our own experience, knowledge and views on life. Nature gave us a head in order to think with it, make our own decisions, and not repeat something life. As for the oil for the motorcycle, these were not relatives, but ordinary neighbors. And in a normal world, before taking something, people ask permission. And this is called banal theft. In our opinion, if we respect others, then they should respect us. Otherwise, they do not deserve respect either.
Sheila is old enough to decide how to live her life. And she is not a thing for someone to decide for her. Of course, I talked to her parents. We live in the 21st century, the century of civilization. If we are happy with each other, then they do not care whether we are married or not. This question worries everyone around, people who are not affected by this. If you have to ask permission to do something, then you are incompetent, you are like a weak-willed slave, for whom parents, the state, and so on decide. We decide for ourselves what to do and how to live. Maybe this is normal in the Philippines, but in 90% of countries, it is different.

Hi Greek friend. I am Greek too, I am thinking of moving to the Philippines or to Thailand…….do you have any recommendations?
@@FOL_Freedom girls in are countries want the same
Classic chisme culture in the barangay. I took my Filipina GF to thailand and, as a teacher in the Philippines, she said it was the first time she felt totally free and anonymous in her entire life.
👍
That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Love you both be a support for each other

I made provision for her in my will so her future after college was guaranteed if I did not survive.

thank you for your comment.

These include:
But it also happens in USA
Same mentality.

Go to Samal Island in Davao there's a lot of Russian people living there.Their is a Russian Village their bring Shiela with you.
Try to watch a Russian vlogger Filipinez he is Andrie.
Jealously there is at an extremely toxic level. There's a reason Philippinos never return if they get out.
100% you are right. I always tell Sheila the same thing. And she also does not want to return to the Philippines when she flies away. Adult Filipinos sincerely do not understand and complain that their children do not come from abroad, and if they do, then after one day at home they rent a house in Panglao and end their vacation there
@@FOL_Freedom yeah you guys are young and healthy so spread your wings, you'll have a great future 👍
If having a Russian boyfriend turned you to a prostitute, then I disagree. It's a shame that fellow filipinos think like this. For example, I got lucky and accidentally got Russian girl friend, will you call me or my Russian girl friend a prostitute?
It's none of my business. It's your relationship and I have no right to judge anyone.

Godbless♥

Interesting how many expats & youtubers in the philippines speak highly the people...here you are saying quite the opposite...

@@FOL_Freedom Did you ask permission to her parents? does her parent happy to her not married used by you?
Sheila is old enough to decide how to live her life. And she is not a thing for someone to decide for her. Of course, I talked to her parents. We live in the 21st century, the century of civilization. If we are happy with each other, then they do not care whether we are married or not. This question worries everyone around, people who are not affected by this. If you have to ask permission to do something, then you are incompetent, you are like a weak-willed slave, for whom parents, the state, and so on decide. We decide for ourselves what to do and how to live. Maybe this is normal in the Philippines, but in 90% of countries, it is different.

@@Coffewithsteve so do you think it's different in America? How about don't go where it's risky and don't take the Alcohol drug is #1. I've been around the world many times people are the same everywhere.

Why she no talking in this ? Girl has to eat.
because she is embarrassed to talk about it. she grew up in a village and for her it was normal, although she does not agree with this attitude. Now she sees normal life and normal human relationships for the first time. and the difference is simply colossal. She has no desire to go back. her whole life was a plate of rice - the limit of dreams. But at the same time she is real with genuine feelings and emotions. That's what I need. We are very comfortable together, even if it is very difficult. Thank you for your comment

@FOL_Freedom if you live in 21st century then why bother what others are doing/talking behind you? you dont want them to talk about her but you are talking about them in social media!!!.. 21st century pa more.. i think you are only doing this for gaining sympathy from subscriber.. real talk or not?
Hello. We don't need sympathy. We just asked for advice on how to react and how to act when communicating with such people. Most people still understand that this is not normal. And many confirm that they have encountered this in the Philippines. Therefore, you do not need to worry and sympathize with us. We can handle it ourselves )) Thank you for your comments. We value any of your opinions.
