  • Welcome to Containing Luxury, where we bring you inspiring stories of people embracing sustainable living through container homes.
In today's episode, we introduce you to Mike Scott from Jensen Beach, Florida. What started as a desire to make more out of his backyard has led him on an incredible journey towards container living, and we're honored to have been part of it.
In 2020, Mike completed a pickleball court but sought to use his extra space for a potential side hustle. After coming across our channel and the work we're doing here in Texas, he was fascinated and began contemplating building his own container home.
After discussing his vision with us, Mike took a leap of faith, refinanced his house, and invested over $115,000 in his own container living project. We provided him with two of our signature units and helped bring his vision to life.
Now, Mike's container living space is generating approximately $5,000 in monthly revenue. Despite a quiet start on Airbnb, his unique offering soon gained traction and had four bookings within days of listing. His first guest even booked for an entire month!
Since August, Mike has hosted 110 stays, collecting 98 five-star reviews. Guests have commended the ingenious use of space and top-tier amenities, and some even claim they'll never return to traditional hotel stays.
If you're interested in exploring container living, we at Containing Luxury are here to guide you. We are experts in the field, providing unparalleled quality in building, delivering, and servicing container homes.
Follow Mike's journey and many others by subscribing to our channel. Like, comment and share our videos to spread the word about sustainable and innovative living.
Stay tuned for more stories of transformed lives through container living. Until then, remember, sustainability is not just a lifestyle, it's a journey.

Awesome! We remember our first months after completing our container Airbnb's here in Costa Rica and just waiting for the people to come stay and experience what a container is all about. Almost 5 years later and numerous guests and we still love hearing what people think about staying in a container. Good Choice Michael!

What you suggest for gaps between the window and door cutouts? The cuts were not made straight and there are gaps between the framing and container that are to wide to wield?

Did you have to get a permit for each of them and is it in the city or county that you had to get it from ? Are both containers hooked up to electricity and plumbing ? Is that area where you live zoned for containers ?
