      I thought the same thing....................it was new & he just started using that year i believe. Ken Shaffer of N.Y. patented the SVDS (ShafferVegaDiversitySystem) in 75-76. Very advanced for it's day since he was using VHF via antenna's which were subject to local interference through police calls or any dispatch service in the area. He incorporated some really high-tech filtering & compression componets etc. Kiss & Pink Floyd also were using it at the time.

      TheCrazyKenshin Not to sound "corny", but it "warms a old-man's heart" to see your comment. I was addicted to this band the first time I heard them in 1976. Bon, and the band in general, was at that time something that broke the boring, every band sounds the same, bullshit, that was F.M. radio.You have to understand that in those days, "stadium rock" bands like Boston, Foghat, Journey,Areosmith ruled the airwaves, so bands like AC/DC (and Def Leppard) were a nice change. They spoke to a certain group of the population that were doing the shit the band were writing songs about.If you like AC/DC then you might also like to check out Trapeze, Legs Diamond, Moxy, and Budgie.

He smiled and said I bet you will. Before I was to sign with RCA Records, I thought how much time passed until I saw my dad after touring and I put the pen down and walked out. If you just read Bons lyrics, you can see just how gifted he was at catchy phrases and verses.

    I love ACDC's Bon Scott era. Pure fun and authenticity, it's all rock and roll. Malcom was the coolest rhythm guitar player ever. He's right next to his amp, on the shadows, rocking like a freight train. Angus with the school bag, awesome. And Bon having the time of his life in every show. That's unbeatable.

    Each time I see Bon Scott I think of Moses. Bon was told in the beginning that the band would see greatness but he would not get to see it and he took the band to the edge of the promised land and then he was taken from us and the band continues to be one of the greatest. 👍👍

    Could AC DC have reached the Top of the Rock, if had it not been Bon Scott the lead singer at these initial steps?
    Sincerely, I have serious doubts.
    I cannot remember a lead singer, who doesn't play any instrument, with such a power on everything he does. Such a magnetism between him and the crowd! Simply faultless!
    Talking 'bout the crowd...... his effort is even more valuable with this crowd, I agree with the one who wrote, a little bit below, that they looked as if they were listening a sermon in the church while actually, completly blind and unaware, they were witnessing the birth of one of the best rock bands in History.

    • @miguelm.t.9253
      @miguelm.t.9253 7 лет назад

      Yes, of course, I definitely agree. However, I didn't really want to discuss about his ranking on the rock lead vocals scoreboard. I only wanted to ponder about what could have happened to the band itself if the singer had not been him. Whether the mighty songs and Angus performances woudl have been enough to take 'em to the high step they were when he tragically died. Just it.
      And I did so because, from my point of view, I see pretty hard to be on stage where everyone else has something to play and the lead singer has only his own voice and a mic.
      Same as it happens with Jagger, Mercury or even Axl Rose (despite I perfectly know that he played piano pretty well). I don't mind about their capabilities as musicians, I only care about the energy they've when are on stage. Energy that the audience takes as its own and allows the band to quickly climb to the top.
