HOLY CRAP! You know, I laughed out loud a couple times with the apparent ease at which he attacked this solo. I am working on it now and only hope to perform it that well. Bravissimo !!!!
My favorite part about great bone players is that the slide always moves smoothly, not matter how fast the music is. Something I always strive for when I play.
I pray I may someday hear this man play in person...all you that criticize any portion of this are idiots. When someone can do these things with their instrument, they may also do whatever they want with whatever piece they're playing.
This is a really good recording, and he doesn't do a lot of crazy flashy stuff, just plays it straight up, (unlike Christian Lindberg), and that makes it great to help learn the solo. My only complaint is he rushes some stuff and goes completely out of time once or twice.
i only have one criticism, so please dont pounce on me. he does not use his wrist when he plays at all. it doesnt affect his performance, but it does make it harder on himself
@MrDfordan72093 Not pouncing on you, I'm just saying Joe Alessi (who La Rosa studied with) teaches his students not to use their wrist, which is quite contrary to most trombone professors. That's my explanation for that.
Rubato is actually a give and take process, not just altering time and not going back into tempo. If you slow down or speed up, you need to come back to your tempo. I'm well aware of what it means to play expressively, and the sacrifices that one has to make to time, but to just completely ignore time doesn't entirely make sense. Oh well. it is still a good recording.
this is so sick nasty..omg he is amazing......i hope i can get this good....but i dont think he is as good as JIM MILLER...associate prin. of Los Angeles...the man is sick...maybe they went to school at the same time..they are both amazing!
This guy is awesome. The cleanest live performance I have heard. Great job. Complimenti. Sei proprio bravo!!
Fantastic! Especially loved the pedals!!!
oh man i love this song. nice job on the pedal notes and the fast sections
complimenti davvero Massimo! Una grande chiarezza e pulizia di suono ben oltre la difficoltà del brano.

Simply. Amazing.
