This was really helpful! My biomechanics text book didn’t do a great job of explaining subtalar pronation and supination, and this video definitely cleared things up for me. I’ll be watching more of your videos!
in addition to tibial external rotation and tibial internal rotation, i believe that supination and pronation can be linked to genu valgum and genu varum, respectively, on the proximal end of the tibia.
Regarding Supination and pronation movements of the subtalar joint, I thought with genu valgum there is tibial external torsion and that leads to pronation of the subtalar joint and pes planus.
why the talus is planter flexed in extreme supination diseases as talipes when it is supposed to be dorsiflexed as it is over supported by internally rotated calcaneus ?
Hi! I've got Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and I'm here to understand how my left ankle hurts so much. There's an error with your chart though. Of the 8 images indicating events, the 4th from the right has it's legs mixed up because the left foot should be accepting opposite initial contact. As is, the figure is actually suddenly going back half a step. Funny that they have the arms correct.
So when I step with my pivot foot to throw a roundhouse kick, I want to step onto a pronated foot and then move through neutral to supinated posture? Or just try to keep my foot posture neutral the whole time?
You took more time and explained way better than my professors did in my Physical Therapy program thank you for this video
Same here.

Superb explanation.
Great TEACHER.
The best video and the only video that can help me with the complex subtalar joint supination and pronation!thank you so much!
Except it is faulty idiotic stuff.

Great video!!!!!!!!
just great teaching...thank you so much!
excellent explanation. thankyou
The opened and closed kinetic chain was the most confusing part of the STJ for me. Thank you
Loved this video, it explained talar abd/adduction so well! Where is part 3 for open kinetic chain? 😢
fantastic; so nicely demonstrated in detail; thanks
This is fantastic! 😊
Thank you so mucking this topic very clear
great video
great, thank you
amazing post thank you so much :)
