Clunky controls and shoddy plastics are almost made up by decent emulation and a cartridge port for playing Famicom games... almost..

Today I finished my work, grabbed some liquor, chips and guess what, this video popped up. How could I have missed it ?
Its the exact same console I bought ! Well not exactly the same, mine is a bit older, and still has the chinch ports instead of minijack. But other than that, its pretty much the same stuff. I got mine back in 2017 I believe, and the price didnt change since then, its still very cheap.
Oh and yours have got more games. Seriously.
Why did I bought this ? I needed the shell for putting the SBC inside (Orange Pi Lite) for the retro gaming. I modified the shell a bit, putting a USB hub at the front, making bigger hole at back for the connections, and glueing a small fan inside. The actual console later served as the replacement guts for my older clone in a fancy Gen 2 style shell. Now this baby runs !
The system is doing quite well when it comes to the compatibility, but unfortunately it doesnt run the Coolboy multicards and their clones. Oldschool style multicards with less games included are no problemo.
The controllers I left for the future, I may be doing some projects connected to them, but by now Im using the oldschool Sega-style Famiclone controllers. Every 9 pin controller would work, so you dont have to use stock ones.
Also btw I'm still having my CRT and the gun games do work.
Plus I gotta really praise you for the fair review. After all the system IS playable. Its just not the best thing around. I was just surprised you paid 15 bucks for it, I bought mine for like a half of that price - of course brand new.

I found this thing in the attic today but there was no power cable in the box so I guess it's going back up there lol
I have grey screen...is this cause I have android tv? I can play but no colors at all
I bought the exact same game, but mine never had a power adapter inside and I tired another adapter which blew the thing up.
It's only for 15 dollars in Jordan right now and it feels for such price it's doing a decent job, thank you for the full unboxing and try out though 🙏🏼

For 15 bucks it's not that bad, the most consoles in that price range only have build in games and no cartridge slot. Did you test the lightgun after the video to see if it works?
What is the voltage output of the adapter. Will really appreciate that info.
I guess 'a long time in the making'. I had one of these systems over 10 years ago. almost exactly the same except the CD lid did not flip up, famicom carts stuck right in the center of the circle lid area. Did you know that you can build a cable to connect a real NES controller? Look up "Use your NES controller with a famiclone".
I actually have this....yeah, it is EXTREMELY cheap and low quality. But it comes with Super Mario Bros, Contra 1, F1-racers and Battle City, which makes it worthwhile. Unfortunately I discovered the light gun does not work on a modern LED screen....

I have the exact same one. Atleast yours were ok out the box. When I opened the one I have the cartridge slot was all skew. When I opened it none of the boards had screws and were just clipped into place but the plastic is so cheap and brittle it broke off. Also bought 2 cartridges. 1 works the other one shows the menu and freezes. And when I opened the non working one it had cockroach eggs in the cartridge shell and the PCB is a tiny with just one small blob chip. I tried an original cartridge in it. The game loads sometimes and work but the image is all messed up and corrupt. They really got good at making nasty cheap consoles. So cheap like you cannot believe.

Sad to say I no longer have this one. I get in a lot of different Famicom players and if I don't want to become a hoarder I have to clear them out pretty regularly. Sorry about that.

Cut up some foam from scrubbing pads for washing up and put them inside the controllers as they feel hollow and cheap before and they feel better after with space filled inside that's what I do with these cheap controllers put it behind the buttons smaller chopped up pieces fill the back piece of controller with bigger piece just put enough in so they Don't feel hollow anymore
This is one of the things I really love about these types of game system: No fear modding. Nice job!

So a Nintendo Famicom cartridge still works on a Made In China Famiclone? Let alone an NES cartridge with the converter? Cool!! I was clearing the storeroom and found an old Made In T***** Famiclone from the late 80s. I wonder if it works on actual Nintendo Famicom cartridges. Because the Made In T***** Famiclone I've found is shaped like an actual Famicom, but the D-Pad is a circle, instead of the ［+］ shape. But the rapid buttons works well on top. Playing shooting games like Twin Bee and Macross makes it easier to move around and shoot rapidly.
So because I've found that Made In T***** Famiclone, it's kinda like...

You should definitely get audio. You might try a different set of cables and see if that helps -- They are pretty standard.

I know i'll sound evil...but my neighbours ordered one of these for their grandchild (the kid only have eyes for modern games) and they don't know the gun only works on CRT....i cant wait to see their faces.... :D

Now I have this portable, about the size of my hand, 9,999,999 games. It's basically a controller with all the "brains" and display screen of the game built in with option to port it to TV (Which I don't recommend as you get an awful display).
The repeat titles are not complete repeats. They are the same game but with slight changes, like you start on different levels, sometimes you have more men, they change the audio or a few of the sprites.
So, no, they are not carbon copies of the titles seen previously. And yes, that is a total rip-off what you have since the whole thing I have fits in the palm of my hand and I only paid $15 from EBAY for it.
Funny. It only comes in as the 6th or 7th cheapest plastic I have ever handled.. No worries: The carcinogens leaching from the plastic will get you LONG before the thing catches fire.
