Looks great, I sprayed , let it dry, then seeded and had my son drive lawnmower with roller over the goldenrod and grass , the peas are popping up nicely and it's been 2 weeks so I put rye on top 2 days ago and it's rained good. Jeff Sturgis has an excellent system. Foodplots are amazing
I'm needing to say GOODJOB! Cause I did all those spray jobs at about same time you did. And got my winter rye seeded 2 days ago followed by most of the day rain yesterday, today is Sept 5th. Can't wait to get germination. I know it will happen soon cause I threw half handful of seed in stone in the barn lot 6 days ago and it's already 1 inch high.will do layering like Jeff Sturgis recommended maybe next week. Anyhow enjoy your season this year and good luck to you from some flat land hillbilly in Indiana.
Everything you just explained sounds almost exactly like what happened to me. This is my first year with food plots. I watch every video from Jeff Sturgis. I sprayed in May, June and July but came back in August with tall weeds. I didn't use 24d. I seeded into weeds and then sprayed and then layered. It is looking pretty good right now.
As soon as glyphosate hits the soil its neutralized. You can seed right after you spray. On my farm the well water hadn't been used for awhile and had a slightly brown color to it. We used it to mix with glyphosate and it didn't kill a thing. You also can't use stream water with it. I use a big 250 gallon container i fill with the city water at my house.
Yep, my buddy was worried about the same thing, I said Jeff Sturgis does it, he wouldn’t tell you to if it didn’t work! I just did about the same thing but with brassicas, going to overseed with oats here in about 3 weeks.
This past week I seeded 11 fields, cultipacked a spring planting of soil builder, then sprayed immediately afterwards. I noticed germination today when I inspected one field. I was following your thoughts totally.
Hello, Sorry, I just saw this. I just used 13 -13-13. That being said, it will grow without any and Nitrogen is probably more important of the 3. Thanks
Good video. Did you consider some oats to sweeten it up? He doesn't talk a lot about it but he adds oats. The deer didn't hit my rye only plot last yr so I added wheat and oats to the rye this year. Good luck.
I knew it was possible, but it’s nice to hear a first hand account in case I ever find myself in such a predicament. 👍

You can actualy seed and fertilize then spray. This keeps you away and out of the field when the glyphosate has just been sprayed.
We just tried that this year. Without fertilizer though. Will see how it looks.

I’ve seeded and sprayed immediately after and had good results

What 100 lbs of fertilizer did you use. I have to use this strategy next week either the 12th or 13th of August.
Hello,

Lol. I sometimes call Glyphosate “Glysophate” too.
Ha, yep, I caught it myself as well.
More importantly the deer are pounding the Rye. Lol

Just saw your video for the first time. What kind of fertilizer did you use? TY
I think I just did a 13-13-13. My clover looks awesome this year.
What’s the dimensions of that field?
Hello,
It's around 500 yards x 30 yds. It's around an acre.
Around 500 yards x 30 yards
Why fertilize and spray? Let nature to do the work!
He had to spray to kill the grasses and weeds that he didn’t want in his plot. He fertilized for the new growth of the seed he just broadcast.
