- A video tripreport of a trip with Singapore Airlines SQ 637 from Tokyo to Singapore in Business class. The report show boarding, departure with the unimaginable great sound from the powerful GE90-115 when climb to cruise altitude, catering, dining and the 5 star service onboard. Have a nice trip!

Excellent video as always, love the sound/view of the GE90's and of course, enjoying this with the appropriate beverage.
The GE 90`s are amazing, but you have to sit in front of them to get the best sound experience
The engines are not noisy. It is kinda natural fornit to make a humming sound. It sounded beautiful. I love engine sounds!

We flew Business Class in Cathay once and it was really good. Other than that Lufthansa to Europe before. Most of the time we are in coach. Thanks for your response.

Yes, it was the one with Star Alliance livery, if you looking closely, and that's maybe what you have done, you can see some of the letters from this Star Alliance livery in the glare of the engine

Economy class is also great. Yes, it's still economy but... Singapore Airlines! Probably the best economy class of the whole flying world!

It is possible to select all kinds of food on board so everyone can find something they like here on board. On book the cook you can select from a menu that counts more than 50 dishes

There's a considerable price difference between business & first class seats on the 777-300 but the service on both classes are on par..That's the edge that SIngapore Airlines has!

What do you think of Cathay? We've flown them to Asia and they are pretty good as well.
the reason why some people are horizontally challenged: eat and drink so much during flights. it's a no-no in flight trips cos digestion system is slowed down in high altitudes.

In video the landing looks very smoth, in real I did not notice that the landing was very smoth. My Thai A340-500 video has a clip of a very smoth landing.
The Singapore Girls are the well known SQ Flight Stewardess'! And yeah, I'm Singaporean!
Just a funny note when you were zooming in on the GE engine it looked a little like you were climbing out on the wing
great flight from Tokyo to SG,...I wonder if the flight in business class is provided Free Wifi on board and also Free shower on board like Emirates 1st class shower room
You have to pay for WiFi, shower room is not offered, no shower onboard

xxquiker is right, and as I wrote in introduction, it is GE 90-115 B, I belive it is the most powerfull jet engin ever made.
About the gadgets, hmm maybe you`re right, but at least it is no transmitting component like a Mobil phone ;-)
By the way, how is Air Asia? I`ve never taken it.

Fantastic Video again. Still wondering which cam you use? Seems like a great flight..although..to me..the famous Singapore Girl Service looks a bit mechanical..automated..no heart nor personal attention..frankly, a bit disappointing.
Thanks very much for your comments Homer. Camera is Canon Power shot SX220HS. Some times even SIA crew can be a little bit busy and act little bit mechanical like Thai airways often do, but on this flight I did not manage to catch all personal comments and conversation on cam. Im new into this and are afraid to cross some lines.
But I can assure U that they remember and use your name when speak to you and if U start talking to them, they always have the time for you.

homer3152 The scenes is taken by holding the camera on the armrest. Since the camera is very small and have a good wide angle, its a good camera to use for this purpose.

I`ve never tried Cathay in Business, but I flown with Cathay in Economy to Bali. Service was okay, but the Economy seats in the 747-400 is not my favourite. I have seen some reports from Cathay`s new Business class and that one looks pretty good.
@ 4:10 the engines sound unstable, never staying constant in sound I know it's ok but it still scares me and I've flown 50 times. Just getting older I guess.

If U like the engine sound, please chose right in front of the engine...
How any airline can still offer this level of service given the state of the airline industry, and given how air travel has become another form of mass transit, is astonishing to me. How do they do it, and still make money? In the US, this type of cabin service and level of amenities have been gone for many, many years. In America, anybody can afford to fly but the experience has become so unpleasant that NOBODY wants to fly, unless they absolutely have to.

Did you fly on the Star Alliance aircraft?
Landing was normal. The smoothest landing I ever catch on tape can you see in my Thai airways video :-) That was impressive.
Thank you for comments. I was either not aware of that SQ serve stout I Business Class. But on the way to Singapore they run out of stout..... My next trip with SQ is from TPE-SIN-HKG, than I will be looking for more stout. ".."
My recording device is not a hot shot camera... I only have a Canon PowerShot SX220HS, but it do the work okay for me :-)
I agree with you, Economy is very good too
The Singapore sling was my choice of after departure drink, I had already been drinking champagne as pre departure drink, but I forgot to make it into my camera. As you can see, I continued with red wine and beer, Guinness Stout.
The engine power was reduced when we reach the level we was cleared for, we was on hold waiting to be handed over to next flight control zone, a minute later we continue climb to cruise altitude. I guess the flight control had a busy time :-)
