Women should NOT be allowed to be firefighters. Women should NOT be allowed to serve in direct combat roles in the military. Women should NOT be police officers. Women have A LOT to bring to our country but the greatest is being a great mother and a fantastic wife.
Me and my wife are both fire fighters, she has been over 10 years, she can out lift half of our firefighters. Idc if it's a woman or a man she passed her test so, it depends bc alot of these new generation men are wimps
FUNNY. When I went to College here in Texas, 30 years ago, the Firefighter class had 2 women taking the course. They both went through the course, and passed the physical portion of the course then passed the Test for the local Fire Department. Both women went on to become Firefighters in two different cities in Texas.
I’m a 5’1” petite blonde woman who weights 108lbs. I’ve been athletic my entire life and able to out compete much larger women and men. It absolutely kills me when I hear someone say they can’t do something because they are a woman. As part of my job running a large sports bar I weight 30 kegs weekly. A full keg is 165lbs. I also have to act as a bouncer and remove drunk men or stop fights. It’s a requirement of my job so when I hear other female managers say they won’t weight kegs or won’t intervene in a situation because they are a woman and someone should do that for them I tell them they are in the wrong job. There are set standards and responsibilities at every job you do. You don’t get a pass for being a woman you should probably just find a different career path. It also kisses me off because those of us who have worked to get where we are lose respect because people think we are just a diversity pick.
@@baw5xc333 So using you figure of 0.01% that makes roughly 16,500 women who can do the job, with roughly 165 million women in America. The women who went through Texas college's Fire Academy did the same physical requirements required for the men, and passed with flying colors. Same with the physical portion of the Fire Department test after graduating the Fire Academy.
@@roseblite6449 first of all, I have no idea what percentage can do it. I was merely exaggerating to a make a point, namely, it's always a tiny minority of women that can actually pass the "same" physical standards as men. The "as long as they pass the same standards" argument is kind of silly anyway because in most cases the physical requirements are poor proxies for physical capabilities generally. There's a lot a PFT won't be able to tell you. Just because a woman may have a decent run time doesn't mean shell be able to fireman carry you 100 meters when it counts (or whatever random physical demand of your choosing). The same can be said for men, of course, but we already know men are simply more physically capable of these things generally even without special training. It's also a dumb argument because standards have a way of becoming more relaxed over time, especially when there's a concerted effort for more women to join. I don't know about you but I'd like to see higher physical standards in the military, fire, and police, but you can never make them so high in this day and age to the point that it pushes out women because, well, they'll complain. So in effect the presence of women lowers the standard from what it could be. Lastly, this is somewhat tangential and I won't get into it, but the main reason to not allow women in the military, fire, and police has less to do with physical standards for me (although that is still an issue). Rather it's that women destroy unit cohesion among men. They bring drama and unnecessary sexual tension. This is probably most pronounced in the military and firehouses, but I'm sure police departments suffer from it too.
I work at a large metro fire department. My department has been doing everything to hire minorities since 1990. Inbthe last ten years we have mostly focused on. Hiring women. We run our hose lines at 150 pounds of pressure at the nozzle. So picture lifting 150 pounds sideways. We have maybe 3 women that can do that. I promoted to driver and I always work on an engine because I work the pump outside and I am not in a fire with a 100 pound diversity hire that can't manage the hose line, and can't drag me out if I go down. You are 100% right. I can only say this in anonymity because id be fired if I said it at work.
If you can’t hand a 50 pound vest, forget carrying a person, you won’t be able to simply enter a burning structure at all to, which you have to do just to search for victims and to fight the fire. What about carrying hose up stairs!? Have you any idea how frigging idea how heavy hose is? I’m a woman and an EMT, not on the fireside, but a treat the guys for heat exhaustion and heat stroke and injuries. If you can’t perform the test, you have no business being a firefighter. The test has already been dumbed down as it is over the years in order to get women in the fire service.
Life isn't fair, as a career firefighter I can say with 100% confidence that the job is not for everyone. We are not created physically equal, male or female. Woke doesn't save lives. Find a job within your physical capabilities and don't dumb things down any further than you already have.
I want the Angry Prepper, former New York city Fireman, coming in to drag my butt out!
I am a retired Firefighter from NY and I had 2 women work with me during my career... they had to pass the same test as all the men....
You familiar with the Angry Prepper?

100% agree
Absolutely
What the fuck lol
Lmao...
How about NO FRICKIN WAY.

What a slap in the face for women who have met the standards.
Yeah, all .01% of them...

Shoot, why not hire the handy cap also. Just saying does a firefighter really need to be able to walk
Dayton Wyoming had a all women firefighter crew for Dayton

I've seen some women in Wyoming who could do that job. They're usually (real) ranchers' wives. The ranchers didn't marry them for their looks.
Different standards are commonplace in most departments now. I don't like it either.

Women should not be in law enforcement or firefighters, or military imo
You’re a wise person
