Absolutely love this book. One of the things that really stands out is how well she writes both internal and external dialogue. Also, I’ve read this multiple times and every time I get to the part where Vincent introduces his bride-to-be I get upset lol.

I really think this is the sort of book that should be re read. I’m sure there’s stuff I missed.

I was absolutely gripped for 85% of it. If she had stuck the landing it would be a classic. It provided such an interesting thought experiment.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I'm too lazy to go into detail but ill leave it at this, because Its the type of book that leaves a lifelong impression. There are some quotes that I didn't necessarily stand to memorize, but that I know I'll remember for as long as my memory remains intact (no reference intended)

I'm so happy that you enjoyed this book! And now I can finally stop gushing about it. 😂
It's interesting to hear that you picked up on the characters being somewhat distant to the reader. I've read many of Claire North's novels by now, and I think this is something she often does. It makes it difficult to fully connect with her characters, true, but at the same time, it also helps to set a certain tone and a certain feeling of unease, which usually supports the themes and plot of her stories.
Anyway, as always, great review! Looking forward to the next video 😊

Thanks Seb! You picked such a great book. I can see that the distance helps with the tone, I guess it just not something that I totally love? Lol. Such a fantastic book.
