- Our guy Chris Rucker over at @Moto_Envy had the courage to let me take his BEAUTIFUL 1994 cr250r for a rip at the MX Locker Ride Day, so you know I had to throw the camera on for it!

That old iron 250 beast can still impress in 2022 !

ya I have a 02 cr250R and that thing compared to my 17 ktm 250 sx is not even close but still fun! Power of those old cr’s are still keeping up with the new bikes fyi!

The feeling these bikes gave back in how nimble and brutal they were are hard to explain to modern riders, great ride 👏
NEED MORE 2 STROKE VIDEOS. watching you ride one is addicting
This takes me back. I have a 94' CR 250R, I bought in 94'. I was 22 then. I used to race locally around here in the West, nothing special. It sits on a stand wrapped in a cloth tarp now. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks for the awesome ride brother, brings back old memories.
Idk if you are already planning this but a lap time comparison between that and a 450 there would be sick! You're railing turns on that bike better than I do in a damn video game
The fun factor of an old 2 stroke is unbeatable
definately
It is man! I definitely have a rev limiter addiction too though 😅
HOLY FRIGGN MOLY!!! Your cornering skills are insane!!!! What a joy to watch!! You destroyed that track and rode the hell outta that CR!!!!Incredible.
old Elsinore driver
For a guy that doesn’t ride much 2smoke, you sure made that IRON MAIDEN sound and look Fing Amazing. That motor sounded so Yummy
The fact that a bike that is almost 30 years old can still do such a good job holding its own out there just goes to show how good these things were back in their day.
that’s bike probably has 20k in upgrades
@@codyroberts4407 You cant get 20 thousand in upgrades on a older two stroke, funny is it?
@@codyroberts4407 It's actually astonishing how guys can spend so much on these bikes. I spent 6k Canadian on my 01 restorations and was able to have the motor ported, cases trenched, and head chambered by one of the top guys. New PWK air striker carb with stic metering block. Replaced every bearing on the bike and every consumable. billet crankshaft, cryo-treated and super-finished transmission, Gold valves, and new springs in forks and shock. At the end of the day like 3.5k was upgrades rest was just rebuild resto stuff. If I was to do anything else I'd get wheels but after that how do you blow another 14k? everything else is just unnecessary.
@@jacobvanhalteren7452 A-kit suspension runs about $8,000.00….
@@kariic3824 easily can spend 20k lol the suspension on that bike alone is almost 10 grand.
Absolutely shredding keep up the great videos jeff!
J Walk releasing his inner Ronny Mac at least 6 or 9 times 👍🏻
That 94 bike was a beast! I had one and then ordered a 97. I hated the 97 compared to the 94. The motor was a beast and the flex in the frame was way better. I loved that thing. Makes me want to find one and rebuild it. Currently on a new KTM, but that bike will always have a place in my heart.
Yeah the hondas of that era [pre 97] were amazing bikes. I was on a 95 yz but a little piece of me always wanted the cr.. i got time on the previous gen cr and they were great too. My ktm 250 is a better bike but the feel of a 90s two stroke was just pure nostalgia
Gosh I hated my 97 too! That bike sucked lol
I have a 94 but it’s a 125 what you think I should sell it for
@@deskonosido1026 lots of factors. Location. Its condition are 2 key points. Ive seen descent looking 94 125s list for $1500 and ones that are super clean and have full rebuilds list for $5k. East coast US.
@@TheShift1313 5k for a 94 125 is nuts. Covid money is gone. That crap is over. If it's in excellent shape, maybe 2k. Fully rebuilt and modded, maybe 2.5. A realistic number for a barn find is 800-1500. The problem is that you can only really race it in a vintage class. Otherwise, you are going to get schooled by a Yamaha. You can do that with a YZ 125 that will be head and shoulders above that CR 125. That model CR 250 motor was head and shoulders above everything else.
What a bike, What a sound, What a track & What a rider. Loved every second of it 💯💥 Use to ride 1997 CR250:)
@TextJeffWalker84 Why are people even getting these comments? I've seen quite a few recently. Shame if these are just people out to scam people. :(
Really awesome to see and HEAR a early 90s cr being put through the paces!!!! Yes the suspension always sucked for Honda, but those engines....Lawd have mercy they were and still are legendary!!!
Dude you are hauling. haha. 2 strokes are where its at. Best sound and most fun!
Love it! I have a restored 1995 CR250. My brother has a 1993 CR250 that he is going to restore this winter.
It's a pleasure watching you riding this old beast 🎉
It's great to see a capable rider on a 2Stroke.
Don't know what was more enjoyable, you ripping the old smoke or the gas vent hose dancing around lol
Wow... that was really fun to watch!
Hammering from the first lap! Love it
That must give you a thrill to pass the other riders like that. What A rush! Your corner speed is what really catches you up on others!
I bet that bike has never sang like that before. Absolutely shredding! How numb are your hands? 😄
Crispy! Nice! Had a -93 many years ago.
Great video, on an awesome track. Miss racing there with the huge jump they had in front of the building.
Love it! Would have loved to hear you give a break down of the bike afterwards. There has never been a better sound in this sport than a well tuned 250 two stroke.
Man that track looks amazing
Great video!Love that 94!
He was going so fast even the fuel tank breather tube wanted out! 😂
Daaaaamn!!! It looked like you were in a controlled slide the entire lap!! Engine braking - ZERO.
I have a rebuilt ‘01 that has just sat in my garage collecting dust since I started riding 4t. Makes wanna go ride it!
I have an 01 I recently went through and I'm curious if you've ever experienced the clutch actuator arm hitting the inside of the stator cover and if so, what you did to fix it. All I did with the clutch was replace the plates.
@@darrenhill3514 What brand of clutch? Certain cheaper clutches use all steel plates where the stock has only 2 steel rest are aluminum. The steel plates are thicker and require a 2nd washer to be added to the thrust bearing on the lifter shaft by the pressure plate. I originally changed the washer to a cheap washer that was 2x the size but when I rebuilt the motor I ordered another thrust bearing and another thrust washer and now run 2 thrust washers on the one side to correct the lifter arm location. Otherwise, the clutch lifter arm hits the cover and you get no clutch actuation.
Even Hinson uses thicker steel plates and comes with a second thrust washer with instructions to add it to the lifter shaft.
You can see just from the go pro that the forks are Kashima coated and the caps mean 05+ forks. Which on a 94 means triples from a newer bike or billet triples.
@@darrenhill3514 like Jacob said, it depends on which brand you’re running, steel vs steel/aluminum mix and wear of your thrust washer. I prefer a Barnett basket and OEM pack with heavy springs.
Dude you are flippin flying!
WAUW!! I Love that video!!! Insane dude!!!
That is an awesome video!!!
One or two laps to get used to the ole 2 stoke then YEEHAR look out ,LOL. good stuff, enjoyed that.😁😁💪💪
WOW!! That was insane!!
that track looks awesome
I own ALOT of 2 strokes since i restore and sell as well as collect and i havw ro say out of all the bikes i own the 96 cr250 and 125 is My all time favorite. Just the way they feel and ride is like nothin else!
My CR250 and RM250 were my favorite bikes out of the dozens I have owned.
You rode the piss out that time piece!! Loved it
That bike looks like it's set up well. Or at least you made it look that way!
The 2002 and newer YZ250 and 2003-2008 RM250 were the best 250 smokers I ever rode. The power delivery was broader and more solid than the 90's 250s. Way easier to keep moving for the average rider.
And that track looks awesome! Especially considering there are no natural elevation changes.
omg that sounds so good!
Holy Smokes! Unbelievable! I didn't think that was humanly possible! The fun factor had to to be x 100!!!
Jeff on a Honda is a work of art haha looked like you had a killer time out there jwalk
Wow flying
Ride my 125 for the first time in a bit at the last ride day at supercoops. That lack of engine brake will really surprise you
I'm Brazilian, I love this video of yours, salveee
I liked this video after only seeing the title !!! Awesome 👌👌👌🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
That's Gnarly!!! I have a 99 spitfire pro circuit kx125 that's set to Carmichaels specs and a 01 chevy trucks kx 250 that is set to Carmichaels specs and they are both gnarly but fun to ride. The audio in this video gives me bubble guts though. Since the audio is delayed a bit it sounds like you got whiskey throttle going into a tight turn but its actually the audio of you coming out of the turn. 🤯
i also got a 94 250, man do i love this bike
Dude that corner speed on a bike without engine brake is insane
Hell yeah brother
I can smell the bike from here! 🤘
I raced moto and woods/NETRA hare scrambles with a 1993 CR125 and man I love my bike. Had so much money in it and I'd blow by newer CR's with ease
Love those two strokes there boy that was a good ride we need to go back to two strokes once all this EPA ******** hits the end will see them again
Funny thing is the EPA has nothing to do with it, how does yamaha still make theirs????
@@2smokejoke Correct! It was the other manufacturers that gave up on them.
More money to be made in 4-strokes.
I really like how 2 strokes sounds
Dude u made those guys on the track look like they were on a Sunday stroll
You owe that dude $136.76 for a new top end.
She sounds good don’t say that
@@aydengonzales956 nah the old two strokes need new top ends constantly. Sometimes after every race/practice
@@psyxx_ no they don't

That only happens if you don't run them in properly or have zero knowledge on rebuilding motors.
Not goes for everyone
Dreams !!! 🤙🤙🤙
damn, you shook the cobwebs out of that old bike, and the vent hose LOL.
i absolutley love 2 strokes.. ride em hard change the top end and plug when needed and keep going... people say well i havent rebuilt my 2 stroke in years but they arent racing it hard every weekend...
Bike is beautiful just saw it last week 😍
That was cool af bro 👌 The 2 strokes need to be made again the sound and smell is motocross
Bwaarrp!!!..awesome footage
I still have my Honda Cr250 1993 and I love it. ❤️
Cool... I want to see you on one from the 70’s or 80’s.

parabens!!! 2 stroke forever!!!!!!
J Walk you a bad dude
Chris is a cool dude for sure
I was the kid on the 125 #56 you were rippin
Regarding the audio quality -- never, ever apologize for a two stroke being too loud! Lol.
Nice n crisp. 2 strokes rule!
Hell yeah
I saw your commercial for MX!
Do u run a lens protection on the 360 and if you do this there a lens protection for the 360 one x
He rode the vent hose off of that joint 😂
amazing
Gettin it
Check out that inner thigh knee grip strength!! Awesome go pro location.
That looked really hard lol
✊2 stokes . Ripping and scrubs .🤘🏻
Holy shit you can ride, awesome to watch
Hey Jeff, what was that clear tape that you put on your ktm? Trying to do the same thing for my bike but don’t know what the right stuff is.
I just got my brand new insta 360 x3 how do you get camera to stay looking ahead do you have to edit each and every section and adjust the view to in front of the bike
do you use the clutch much on two smokes? i ride 125 but dont really use it much when riding, not sure if i should through corners haha
