- An instrumental cover of this classic song from the 80's by Berlin. I created this using Cubase 6 Elements. VST instruments used were FM7, Arturia Prophet V and choir samples used with Kontakt. ricomajestic Yes it's midi, just like they used midi to produce the original track, not sure what other synths Moroder used but the bass line was a Yamaha DX7 midi'd up, the drums where programmed on a Linn drum machine, it was all synced together with midi clock then someone hit play and off it went whilst they recorded the output, then along came Terri and sang her bit over the top

I did a remake of Interstatal Love Song and it was 1 week of pure work. Real electric guitars, midi accoustic guitars only, everything else was VST's.
And it was an easy song to remake because it's grunge rock, few elements indeed.
I can't imagine looking for the perfect sound on those vintage synths and then stack them and redo the unique arrangements, to obtain the magic of the 80's.
It's too much work!! but for someone who has a knowledge on vintage synths, knows the sounds and the patches used, so it's easy but I'm sure not any musician can achieve this.

This is so spot on that i cannot believe you were not part of the recording somehow. So accurate. I mean, even all the send fx, balance between instruments, stereo placement, everything is EXACTLY how it should be. Unreal. Chapeau.

I think Berlin would be proud of cover version of their song “Take my breath away”
The band hated that song, it wasn't their style but they had done it once for a silly movie and suddenly everybody wanted to hear it. Broke up the band.

The arpeggio is the Prophet V, but it is a self made patch. Kontakt was used for the pad and choir. Super Strings (Akai S1000 patch from Cult Sampler library), and INIL Choir.
