I stopped in Bullhead city, and then almost made it government wash in Lake Mead, when I had a Rim explode that I just had a new tire put on in Quartzsite! I don’t recommend American Custom tire! Took 4 days to get safely back on the road! Now in Northern CA safely! Safe travels to you!
Would be cool if you get to see the air show. We live about 5 miles from what used to be a major AFB. It was one of the ones that closed in the '90s, though. But for about 20 years, we saw the air show, either from inside the base or parked out on the nearby highway. Also, for about 2 weeks or so, preceding the air show, we'd get bits and pieces of our own private show, just by standing out in our front yard, because we were under the flight path for their practices. They are cool things, and I miss getting to see them, so nearby. There were also, always a lot of cool aircraft of various types on display on the ground. But the absolute coolest thing in all those years, was one year when they had a Stealth flyover! They could do that because we're less than a couple of hours by car from the base where they're kept and maintained. They made an announcement that it would flying over shortly. So we waited, and we waited, and then...just when you were sure it wasn't coming after all, this ominous shadow falls over the whole crowd, we look up and there completely silent is this huge plane flying over our heads. It literally made NO noise at all. The only sound was the simultanous "Ohhh", from everyone in the crowd. It was truly awe-inspiring!! And if someone had told me a plane that big could fly very low above our heads, without making a sound, I would have thought they made that up. But I reckon everyone in that crowd still remembers how weird that was! Hope you get to see your airshow!! 😊
Before the Laughlin bridge was built, you had to drive from Bullhead all the way up to Davis Dam and cross the river to go down to Laughlin. That is why those huge dirt lots were used for parking with shuttles to the casinos. Of course there were not that many casinos then.

We do have crawdads in the Colorado River but they are not native and are considered an invasive species. You cannot transport them from one body of water to the next in Arizona. We do eat them and they are delicious.
I love airshows. Military airplanes are so cool and interesting. My dad was a fan of airshows and I married a guy that was a private pilot and into aircraft. I worked for Boeing for a while. We used to go to every airshow that came into town. Hope you guys have fun. Yummy soup!
My mum would have put a bit of meat into the middle of the dumplings as a bit of surprise, and then not worried about the middle not being cooked. Beef, ham or chicken. Your bean soup looked amazing!!

When there are air shows here they strafe our house, the whole place vibrates and scares our little Stella (15 this year), she hides until it's over...people stand on their rooves to take pictures of the Blue Angel pilots...rather see the shows on TV. Just a little FYI about parking at Pioneer. I have always parked there in the past but they have now implemented a policy that you cannot overnight there if your rig is over 20 years old. Mine is a '96 so i had to find another place. I went to the Riverside and parked there.

Great recipe! I usually fix homemade cornbread with bean soup, but don’t like heating up my oven in the summer! Does baking powder have an expiration date that affects them if you know? I used to use Bisquick, but way too salty! Thank you!😊
My bff from high school in cali has been trying to get me to move to bullhead city for over 30 years..she moved to Arizona n i moved all over including vegas before landing in Delaware when my parents retired n moved back to stepdads hometown...now? I'm just blocks from Bidens beach house .i still hope to make it to AZ someday..soon cuz i aint getting any younger... Love drop dumplings Teri.. grew up on em but here in Delaware its slippery dunplings n chicken n dumplings are a big deal here .i use Annie's for my dumplings cuz i cant cook and I'm lazy when it comes to cooking i guess cuz i just dont enjoy it..never have really.have fun, enjoy the air show, I've been to many, out west and here in De n OC, Md..stay safe✌️❤️😊

We heard a lot of bikers were going up to Oatman at the end of April.

The show by us is at the Miramar Air Base, it's quite large...although it's been a donkey's age since we've gone to it.
