It is. Speaking from experience as a little mac main, the diddy match-up is all but impossible to win.
Mac has a ton of bad matchups, and my guess is that this is the worst. Everything that Diddy is, as a character, counters everything that Mac is. Bananas counter grounded gameplay and Diddy’s aerial game makes it impossible to land. A gap-closing fast command grab is just icing on the Diddy cake.
But I’m not a Mac main, so I’m curious to know if this is actually his worst matchup.
@@thelegendbushido the steve matchup is statistically and personally worse as any good block gameplay invalidates mac’s entire kit

Even when peanut has the time to mix up whether he uses side b or up b to ledge, he never does. When people beat him, it's mostly because they get kills from this.
Mac looked like he can die happy in the last set taking two stocks off Tweek.

I feel like the game would have changed if he went for some elite smash K.O. punches, maybe I'm wrong. Just ran up and whipped it out, he constantly tried to set up into it but you could see Tweek wasn't scared at all.
It’s such a weird thing. Whenever I see peanut in these top player sets he plays so afraid. All these panic options making him lose so many opportunities

Also the pacing, it's rare to be in disadvantage the majority of the time or feels like disadvantage in neutral and good players can basically ignore your advantage state

He actually outmaneuvers tweek a lot during this set which is insane considering the versatility of diddys movement. He just couldn’t deal with the banana trips as soon as shield dropped. Peanut played this matchup really well it’s just an abysmal matchup against an insane player.

Couldn't Peanut have used more ftilt and sliding ftilt? I'm no Mac player but I usually see it doing a lot of good shield pressure, killing, and winning neutral

I feel like he just doesn’t know the diddy kong matchup bc there were so many small things he could have punished like banana pulls and point blank monkey flips but just didn’t.
