Well it partly depends on your monthly income I guess. I usually spend 10 usd/month to buy weekly pass and those weekly pass can cover the cost of a starlight card easily. With the left over diamonds you can also buy aurora crystal daily too, and even after all that you still have 300 diamonds left. Take that into account you only need to recharge like another 20 usd in recharge events to get skins like aspirant or kof. 30 usd a month is definitely not a big amount of money

Extra tips from the video: 1-when doing the recharge event, spend diamonds on buying starlight. If you already have starlight, you can get the season skin as it last around 90 days so no need to rush. 2-there is an event that require you to buy a $1 pack every day for 20 days. You get a random skin at day 10 and 20. It’s basically 2 free skins + some crystals of aurora + 1-3 free magic potion. 3-for the new arrival, i suggest going for 10 draws weekly. Since its not easy to get for many players. Also, always pick the highest skin available. Its better to get Special/Elite than basic skin from it. 4-i believe there is a 20 diamond coupon that can be used to buy the once a month crystals of aurora chest so better use it. 5-if you buy weekly pass alot, best is save the chest that it gives. Only open it to get crystals of aurora when you have enough. 6-collector skin can cost around 2500 crystals of aurora if used the discount right (there are many youtuber showing the method). 7-if you recharged during an event like the exorcist or heroes, then no need to spend anything on it but use the free draws to get the recall or kill effect for free. 8-zodiac skins have different calculations and heres how. -only draw during the first days of the zodiac skin for the 30% discount. -suggested to only use crystals of aurora. -each draw gives 1-5 points but usually you getting 1-2 points. -your first zodiac skin will cost at max 1400 crystals of aurora. If lucky could be 1200. -each time you get a zodiac skin, your next one will start with 10 points with max if 60. So after each zodiac skin, the next one will be cheaper. When you own 6 zodiacs, the next will only require 40 points. Thats 560 crystals at max. So first 6 skins are expensive but next 6 are cheap. -One is available at the shop (either karina or selena but i think karina) and that one can be gifted.

Another option would be to take advantage of the Weekly Dias Pass. You can save on diamonds and crsytals as well.
