I literally hated Mingyu because she never truly loved Cheng Xu. She manipulated him for her and her son's benefit because of his love for her. He wasted his entire life loving a real _itch. Her stinking husband on other hand manipulated the situation with the son. Naming him heir to the throne to stop Cheng Xu from his rightful place. Cheng Xu was an ignorant man, i lost respect for him and never completed watching the series. The disgusting husband had no shame to be married to 3 sisters. Cheng Xu lived a life of misery,he was forced to marry a demon and the nephew never respected him. Mingyu as regent continued with her manipulative ways, forcing the son to marry a woman he didn't want. She was no different from her wicked husband, that's why the son died early as retribution for the throne stolen from his uncle.
