I feel like Noob should've played this out, if he can stall with 5 carriers or straight up kill the terran army until he gets one more round from the stargate's he would've a shoot to win this game.

The terran player simply retreats with his tank army, splits it off to go and kill all the protoss bases, and then comes back with a massive goliath count. 5 carriers simply is not enough at that stage of the game, especially if they're fresh. Protoss had very little to work with in terms of position, as the terran had two very fresh bases and they can pump infinite goliaths off of them. It's all about positioning, a starcraft calculator would call that game a 98% loss.
@@seraphimconcordant By the time terran can field a good enough goliath army protoss would have 10 carriers not 5, and with 10 carriers anything is possible. Im not saying it was a protoss favoured position but Noob had some plays left in this game.
24:45 the panic sieging that terrans are addicted to really needs to be addressed. If he just puts the vultures in front on hold position, moves his unsieged tanks up and to the right, sieges a few of them in open areas away from the already sieged tanks, terran loses maybe 5 tanks in that fight and protoss has to back up. Instead he sieges his clumped tanks in between other already sieged tanks and loses 14 tanks for no reason.
I agree with you in spirit. But I think at the time they realize they need to siege, they no longer have the time to set up correctly. Terran needs to set up where the protoss attacks. You can't be set up everywhere. At that time, Terran needs to defend the entire height of the map. In this case, Terrans sets up after he sees the protoss move in. I think the question here is: would Terran do better if he didn't siege. And I think the answer is no. This is still a better trade for Terran. They start both maxxed out and they end the engage at 145 to 165 supply. The Terran is 20 supply up after the engage and the Protoss has more supply currently building than the Terran. So in this case, I think it was the right call.

Sieging more tanks in a clump at the same time in a position where you already have 8 sieged tanks in range, doesnt add much more damage, they will all shoot at the same single unit on the same frame. And they all die to 1 storm and 1 zealot.
well, allow a terran player ONE mistake, please. While protoss after all these failed drops and wasted limits still had real chances to win with Gay recalls and gay carriers. I only surprised that he didn't try mass DT to complete the festival.
17:15 "I only miss some things some of the time". Its ok to be human :) Even when there is an observer who isn't trying to talk at the same time, some things will slip by, it's basically impossible to never miss anything.
Really like this game, excellent set up defense for our Terran player, well turret placement, extra wraith for killing shuttles etc. I am so impressed for the big spider mine set up as well for the bottom two bases.
Aty. When I've seen you left SCII cast I thought it was a loss. But no. Thank you for bringing me back to SCI, as a viewer at least. My fascination with RTS has started from Starcraft back in the early 2000's, and it has determined my life for a large.

I was wondering "Why is his vulture game kinda weak?" a bit of the way through. Like Shinee lost an unnecessary amount of siege tanks from failing to spider mine parts of the map. He had his siege tanks sitting in a defensive position doing nothing for a while when he could have scouted with vultures to see if an attack was actually coming. Then you explained that he's low on minerals and just couldn't afford it.
@@JadeSune you only need attack upgrades in pvt, and you need to play unit heavy if you sit back and wait for upgrades you are letting terran win i think
i think he quit too early those 5 carriers are not gonna lose to 6 goliaths and before more get across the map the next 5 would be out...that said i also think recall is too much of a gamble, stasis and a few storms can clean up chunks of terran army almost without risk to your units

Making turrets and placing mines where someone could drop something in your base is very old tactic. Don't get it why is Arty so amazed by it. We were doing it 20 years ago...
Love watching pro level Toss players with 4k resources banked completely skip over Corsair's disruption web ability and su!c!de dive thousands of minerals of units into turrets over and over. Like there's a campaign level that specifically teaches you about this lol

He should have put spider mines in that region to slow protoss down, but I don't know if he had the minerals for it.

Why do Protoss seem to neglect upgrades so often? Why not double forge in the late game every time and get 3/3/3? Is the APM better spent elsewhere?
The shield upgrades are very expensive
