This video is stuck in HD processing right now so higher quality settings won't be available for a bit sorry!
From what I just saw on one of the groups for these games, they recommend doing this scenario later for the exact reasons you just showed. Because it require a specific item, found in the first four c items, you'll end up having to do the scenario again if you don't draw it before or during this scenario. According to Sherwin, it shouldn't have even been possible to play this scenario without already having the Sword key, but here we are.
Ah classic Steamforged letting errors make it to the finished products. Really it just comes down to changing the main objective to the same as one of the east sides which is just find the C item and don't have enemies on your tile. That'd solve the problem. I had a look at what's in the Sword key room because I was curious if it was required for anything and it isn't at all it's just got a couple of A items in it.
All cards can be identified at the bottom of the card for separating. Just like RE 2 and 3. Great video!
I just played this scenario as well. We found the dog whistle, so in this case, we considered the scenario failed and knew that we needed to come back to replay this scenario once we have recovered the key from another area. We did keep the dog whistle because it does not say to discard any C items if you fail. Failing a scenario really isn't that bad except losing items and danger level going up one. I believe the game is set to mimic the video game where you would need to go back and forth to different areas. That is why you have scenario cards and the mansion map. This way you can progress through the campaign and it is different each time since items are randomized. I do believe they need to have put a note in there saying the scenation cannot be completed unless you have the sword key, but maybe they didn't want to give too much away.
I don't believe that that means you failed the scenario. If you collected the C item, and finished the other objective you can consider it a success and move on.
But un The objective it's says that you have to draw all The exploration cards, and that includes The sword key room 🤔
Yes, but since there's a chance that you fail the scenario even before starting, I refuse to call it a fail if you don't find the sword key. I believe this is just an overlook by the designer and you are supposed to pass regardless. The only thing in the sword key room is an A item anyway.
Also page 18 of the rulebook details that Herbs can be mixed and unlike the previous games you cannot unmix them, just like the video games!
Me and my partner are playing through this and we're a good chunk in, now. Just killed Neptune.
Really enjoying it so far! I think if I did it single-player, I would probably just play normally but control two characters.
I did the same taking it as a win as you said it is poorly worded. Keep up with the great videos cant wait for the next one
The corpse rule is the same as RE3, page 23 of the rule book.
Ah the terrain elements bit not the enemies bit. No wonder I missed it thanks.
Getting others to rally to see a great game.
Hello, I just watched the video because I had the same problem with the key of spades. And after going around a lot, I decided that the scenario could be completed without opening the door, but with the drawback that, if you don't open the door, the scenario is just completed, without further ado. And if, on the other hand, you manage to open the door, you complete it successfully. In the end he decides that the difference would be that, if it is completed successfully you skip step 2 in the final phase, and you do not have the penalty of leaving corpses in the game scenario, and if you only complete it, without success, you finish the mission but you don't skip that step 2. I think it wasn't a bad decision, since that way it penalizes you a little for not having the key, but it doesn't make you repeat the entire scenario because you had bad luck. all the best
Feeding the algorithm, boss! I love these playthroughs; Binge-watched your RE3 run not too long ago.
And yeah; that rule seems to not take into account what order the maps are run, or what C Items you find.
It should have a note: "Ignore any exploration tokens behind doors you cannot yet unlock."
Weren´t you supposed to throw the umbrella dice every time you pass the dead zombie square?
Man you got this out quick, kudos my guy
Yup it’s a bank holiday Monday so I wanted to get another out quick.
Thanks for these excellent playthroughs! Game cards are actually denoted where they come from if you look at their bottom left. =)
Ah, so they are. In incredibly small writing next to some numbers. I'm not sure why they thought that was a good idea when they chose to denote the core box as BG (base game, I presume) and Bleak Outpost as BO. You've got to really look at the cards closely to determine the difference. I've got better than 20/20 vision and even I struggled to tell them apart. They needed to use symbols or larger text for sure.
Hi, loving the playthroughs! I have the game myself so really helping understand the rules clearer. Page 23 section 8 for the corpse rule 👍🏻 will you do a figure painting video or do some close up shots of the figures?
I have a series called Getting Stuff Painted where I show off what I’ve been painting. Whenever I film the next one it’ll include the RE models I’ve painted so far.
Ah cool, I'll check out that series too. That'll be awesome, thank you 👍🏻
Push push ??? Just bought the game ... 3 bullets two pushes if the symbols say that ??? I thought only one push passes?
For that card you drew at 18:24, I THINK what would happen is you have to find a tile that has both enemies and at least 1 non-locked closed door. Which would've been the room with the 2 zombies you trapped.
I too ran into that Sword Key issue, but only noticed it in the middle of playing the scenario. I was playing with 3 friends new to the RE board games so, as to not discourage them from the game, I placed the Sword Key at the top of the C deck 😂 i think the scenario completion is fine as is, but could use a disclaimer that sword key is needed. Or just not have sword key doors, since this is probably most people’s 2nd scenario.
You don't need the sword key to complete the scenario. Theres only an A item in the sword key room. So I consider it a success regardless of if you get the sword key or not.
i playes this senario yesterday and it says that you Must put down all tiles. ( open all expolation cards)
@FliksTabletopGaming
What background music is that? It's great!
It might say below the video? It’s just something from RUclips’s audio library. Don’t remember the track name off hand though sorry.
I can’t seem to find how to burn a corpse in the rulebook. Is it explained on the lighter cars? Do you need to be on the same square as the corpse or does adjacent square also allow it. Since you risk reanimating a corpse when stepping on a corpse
It is on the lighter card yeah and you can be on or adjacent.
There is one starting zombie you forgot. He’s in the far left L shaped piece close to the corner.
Can you push the corpse when you roll a kill shot and a push while killing a zombie?
I’d say yes you could choose to apply them in that order.
Hi , u have to roll dark 🎲 , when passing the corpses
At 14:20 you were wrong, it is stated in the rule book p18 about stacking healing items.
