    EVERYONE is waking up....I had 23 people order from Azure for todays drop and ALL of us did not get everything we ordered. We did get the majority but I think people realize 2 things, Azure's food is clean, and stocking up/buying in bulk is a smart idea! Love the haul video as usual! :D

    I love the calico cheese! We also tried the raw white cheddar and it didn't have much flavor to us. The calico is much sharper and melts perfectly, more like a true cheddar. I also got the #2 D'anjou pears last week. I found a bit of bug damage that I was able to cut around, but there were some that weren't usable. I canned up half the pears last night and got 9 pints, leaving all the peels, cores and damaged pieces for the deer. The deer polished off the scraps within an hour, and the canned pears held their shape and look great! Also, if you like chocolate almonds, try Azure's. I get a bag every couple months as my special treat, yum!

      We had 4 unusable which wasn’t bad at all. We had a couple with big damage on the inside. They are so tasty! The calico cheese is much better.

    Have a blessed day.😊

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  14 дней назад

      I shred and pop in a ziplock. Put in the freezer and remove when you need it. Let it defrost and you are good. It gets a tiny bit more crumbly but close to perfect.

    I do have a question. I really want to order, and I know there is a drop close by. But, do u need to contact azure or the drop “contact” and join or something first? Or just order and show up?

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  19 дней назад +1

      Click the link in my description. Add to your cart and checkout. You will get an email from azure once you order saying it’s shipped and it will arrive with the date and time. Sometimes the drop coordinator will email as well or some drops have a Facebook page. But ya, you basically order and show up. There are always tons of new people and you can usually just ask a friendly face for help with the process. It’s easy and I promise it’s fun after the nerves if the first drop day are done.

    Nice haul. We’ll be ordering the Calico (I think that’s it) cheese next time. QUESTION please: how do you shred your cheese? I can’t manage a handheld grater - bilateral hands disability. Just bought gizmo for our Kitchen Aid but haven’t tried it yet. Cheese gets “gummy” in our food processor. Maybe include a demo in one of your vids? I doubt I’m the only one challenged with cheese-shredding. lol. Thanks, Ali. Nice bag of oats! Have you tried getting Oat Groats instead? They store longer and significantly cheaper. MockMill makes a lovely Flocker. We love ours.

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  18 дней назад

      Hi Cynthia, haven’t seen you in a bit. We have the KitchenAid one and love it. We use this the most. amzn.to/3ArJNiA I have a very hard time with cheese graters! I have a bad right arm and it’s painful and I also love to grate my knuckles. We got this little grater a year ago and love it. We can do 6 lb block in like 10 minutes or less. You do have to spin and stop so the cheese falls out and doesn’t clog into the middle of the shredder part but usually one hand will spin and the other will move the cheese into a bowl so it doesn’t clog.

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa

    I like the Colby jack cheese, but we froze it in one pound blocks which I’ve done with other cheese, but this is kind of crumbly after thawing. I guess it’s okay because we are using this mostly for shredding, but it’s just weird to me.

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  19 дней назад

      Interesting! I vacuum bagged them and put them in the fridge. I figure we go though it fast enough. The super sharp stuff we got a couple months ago got crumbly like what you are describing. It’s okay because we are shredding it but I get it.
