    Thanks for the great video! Question. If structural equation modeling has previously shown that individual items/indicators load very low (below .40) on a construct. Do I still use those to form the Composite (Mean) variable of the construct, or do I exclude those items/indicator in the process?

    • @julianpape3008
      @julianpape3008 Год назад

      I ask because I used the low loading items/indicators when creating the Composite/Mean variables and now my model fit of the interaction/moderation SEM is very very poor.

    • @researchwithfawad
      @researchwithfawad  Год назад

      Pleasure. I am glad you liked it. The items with low loadings shall be removed and should not be part of the composite variable.

    Hello, thanks for the great video! :) I have a question. Do I need to test the multivariate normal distribution of each variable/indicator before creating the mean-centered variable?

    • @researchwithfawad
      @researchwithfawad  Год назад +1

      Thanks. I am glad you liked it. It is better to check for normality using Skewness and Kurtosis.

    This is a clear video - thank you for sharing! However, I was only able to follow up to the point we started to explore the simple slopes (around the 30-minute point in the video). When I included my Low version of my moderator, all the estimates change. I wonder if this is because I have some missing data in my model and I am using FIML?
    Do you have any advice on how to compute the simple slopes in AMOS when we have missing data? If you do, it would be great if you could share a tutorial on this, and I would be happy to cite it in my paper. Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks again :)

    • @researchwithfawad

      Thanks for your interest. The changes are because now the moderator is at lower level, and the results reveal the relationship at lower level of the moderator. Same will happen when you assess it at higher level.
      I welcome your suggestion for the video.

      It is CB-SEM, results may change because of the parameters.

      You can follow the same procedure. Create composite score for the moderator and use it.

      Thank you for the reply! But I do not understand how will I “aggregate” the variables that reflect my higher order construct?
      As an example: BAR a higher order construct reflected by CCO, ECO and SOL. And I need to moderate de relation between MKT->NBO. So I need to create BAR*MKT.
      But to create BAR, should I sum CCO+ECO+SOL after following the showed procedure?

    Hi Prof, thanks for your valuable information regards Moderation. I have question, what if we have some indicators that need to be removed from moderation variable because of bad loading factor < 0,7 , shall we remove it before we calculate mean center moderation? Thank you

    Doc pls a quick one
    Hypothesis 1 - stress will hv a significant negative relationship with retention
    Hypothesis 2 - job satisfaction will moderate the relationship between stress n retention such that higher job satisfaction will weaken the the IV DV relationship
    After the analysis using process macro I realized my output (coefficients) wer all positive n significant including the interaction.....also, looking at the slope, I realized it was going the positive direction
    Doc pls looking at this, does it mean the moderator is playing an antagonist role as it is changing the negative relationship between stress and retention to a positive relationship?...or is it playing an enhancing role?...because I kno my Hypothesis is not supported since the moderator is not weakening the IV DV relationship.....I'm stuck between choosing between the antagonist and enhancing role played by the moderator

    • @researchwithfawad
      @researchwithfawad  Год назад

      Stress and Retention have a positive relationship in your study and the Moderator is strengthening the positive relationship, since moderating effect is positive.

    Hi Prof. Fawad, thank you for a great video. I have a concern for High/Low level of moderator when you guided low level is adding 1SD and high level is subtracting 1SD. It's correlating to Aiken & West (1991) pick a point method, but when it come to Hayes (2017) process macro, it just said the reverse way where low level is subtracting 1SD and high level is adding 1SD. Would you please help correct me for the analysis of Hayes (2017). And also, it would be wonder full if you can do a separate video on the 3-way effect where the effect of Moderator1- Z on X-->Y is conditioned by moderator2- W. All the best Prof. Fawad

    • @researchwithfawad
      @researchwithfawad  Год назад +1

      Pleasure. I am glad you liked it. Low is adding 1 SD since, this will move the moderator away from the mean, and -1 for high, as it moves the moderator close to the mean. Hope this help.
