I remember we opened up for these guys on an acoustic tour they were doing. I didn't know to much about them until I watched them and I remember this song was amazing really made me really like and respect the band. We The Assembly
From a Mother who has a Son in the Marines and a Son in the Navy…Thank You for Acknowledging Their Sacrifices. You were in Japan last night where my Marine is stationed and played this song. Thank you is not enough for uplifting my Son and His Brothers/Sisters. Prayers for All American Soldiers
GOOD FOR YOU..I JUST CAN'T SEE HOW YOU CAN PUT UP WITH IT BEING AWAY FROM YOUR SONS FOR SUCH A LENGTH OF TIME I CERTAINLY KNOW I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO IT🤔🤷♂️🤨HMM..!!??
Im going into the US Navy i have to say that leaving behind my family and loved ones will be hard but the people who are serving in now are my inspiration to go through with my dream. I am proud to call myself a future member of the United States Navy and am very proud of the people serving. You are my strength to follow through. God Bless the USA and its military members
When I was injured in 2008, this was one of the few songs I could listen to and fall asleep. I was in unimaginable pain 24/7. This was one of those small things that made life bearable.
Just saw these guys in concert and the lead singer dedicated this song to those who have and are serving. God Bless America and God Bless those who keep our freedom and make it ours. Rock On!
any soldiers that see this, thank you for everything you do for the USA. I can't imagine some of the things that you go through and won't pretend to know what it's like. Just know that some of us still appreciate what you do. :)
Just watched these guys live last night. They're Amazing! So glad they played this song at the concert. My stepbrother is in the Navy. They MIGHT not go through the same thing as everyone else in the Military branches, but they're not the same when they come home. Love, peace and respect to our troops that are away and at home.
Just saw you guys at the blue note in Harrison ohio. You guys killed it. Thanks for the killer show. You gave me a hell yeah to my sons picture who is a Marine.
I love these guys. They are playing for my shipmates at Great Lakes. I am currently a Navy Corpsman, and the fact they would put on a show for my shipmates on July 4th weekend is awesome. I want to thank everyone that serves their Country because its hard being away from family for so long.
Just saw Saving Abel last night June 16 2018 in Cascilla Mississippi. They played a small night club called Backroads Bar that is literally in the middle of nowhere out on a dirt road out in the middle of a hay field. They played this song last night and rocked it out !!!
My Dad was also a Vet (A Vietnam he passed away in December) bless your mom and all the other men and women who risk their lives everyday for our freedom!!!
One of my best memories of Basic Training... Was at Fort. Leonard Wood, and Saving Able had a concert up there. I could see it from my barraks. Didnt get to go to it though, but this was one of the songs they played. I love this song!!
i hate when people comment rude ass shit. this song is about losing a loved one and everyone knows how it feels to lose someone they love because i sure as hell do
This song doesn't have anything to do with losing loved ones, I saw them when I was in Kuwait in 2009, this song is about the hardships we deal with having to be separated from our loved ones for long periods of time.
Tom Nelson actually, artists don't write songs to have one specific meaning. If you relate to this song because you lost a loved one, then that's what the meaning of this song is. If you relate to it because you had hardships to deal with over seas and you wanted to overcome them, then that's what the meaning of the song is.
saw this awesome band last nite in lil altus ,ok. home of altus air force base. would definitely rock with them again thx saving able for coming to southwest oklahoma
As a Sailor, watching this hurts. I lost the love of my life due to enlisting. Some women just can't handle their man being away, even if it's only 4 months. Hooyah!
What about all those women that will dive bomb you when they see you the Navy's dress blues? Lol I'm wanting to enlist but I'm not sure what I want to do. I'd like to learn a trade so I don't have to go to college but diver sounds like fun. I can't decide. What's your rate?
I'm sorry that happen to you it takes a really strong women to deal. You'll get someone who doesn't care how far you are or for how long, they'll stay waiting for you.
Went to the Saving Able/Papa Roach/Hinder/Nickelback show Saturday night it Pittsburgh. I was VERY impressed by Saving Abel, they all pretty much kicked ass. One of THE best concerts I've ever been to.
Thank you to all of u that have protected our country....when I listen to this song I think about my younger brother that is over there....he has been gone for almost two years.....please bring him home in one piece
These dudes pulled into my gas station tonight passing through Arkansas and I served them sausage biscuits for breakfast. I cant help but feel like a dipshit for not knowing who they were, on the bright side my girlfriend got their autograph and I found another great band to add to my list.
wow...this song is just great. it is very true in every aspect. My girlfiriend is in the Army and i wont get to see her till January now. I miss her so much and this song is like what we have going on in our life right now.
this song makes me miss my boyfriend more and more. he is overseas and does not get to come home until after oct. it's hard not to be by his side, but i am happy to be with him and proud of him for serving the military. im also proud of everyone else serving and i thank them for sacrificing their lifes for our freedom. i ♥ you babe!
did u know freedom is NOT free it is a gift not a law and i will always support the armed fources because my family is in it and i will join the army or the mirines because i really want to see what it is like and how they can deal with not seeing their families for a LONGGGGGGG time.

This song helped me out so much when I was stuck in Ft. Wood waiting to try and get home. The waiting was the worst part. The knowledge that you can go home, but not when...
Got to see them week ago. Played at bikefest here in our little town. Was so pumped, but didn't know they changed singers. Yes, new singer ok, but was totally hoping sounded like this this. Have different voices.
the day i graduate from high school im headed into the military with my friends that are going now if i go to war and dont come home ill know that hopefully my son/daughter will remember that i gave it all for him/her God Bless Our troops
As a U.S. Marine I have seen alot of shit, and lost a lot of friends who will never be able to see there mom, dad, brother sister, girlfriend, wife or kids and I have never heard a song that hits the heart the way this song does....amazing lyrics I love it....SEMPER FI...to all my brothers whom I will never see again you will never be forgotten, I miss ya and love ya'll....thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice so I can see my family....
This is an amazing song and I am very thankful for everyone fighting for my life and many others. I don't know anyone that has been sent to Iraq but I am very thankful and I pray for their families and the men and women over seas.

i'm in the navy, and i jus wanna thank all of u out there thinkin about all branches. it's the only thing that keeps us goin to know that some of us have something to come home to. much appreciated, and to all other branches, LET'S GIVE EM HELL!!!! HOO-YAH!!
Wow i haven't heard this song in about a year ... i only remembered it today when my friend said 'He hasn't replied and now it's been 18 days' this sure does brings back a lot of memories. It's helped me see everything in perspective. Jeez. Anyway w/e this song is just Freaking Awesome!
this song makes me think of my dad whos been through 4 deployments already and when hes here hes gone for like half of the year so taking alot of the responsibilities hes left me has been hard not to mention the constant schoolwork and girl problems and how much this has cost to my little brother who was born in 2001 whom all he has known is war and my mother who has to constantly see her husband leave and how shitty all of this has been
i remember in 5th grade sitting in the back of the bus singing this song with my friend Alex and laughing at how bad we sounded compared to Saving Abel. xD i miss 5th grade, but i wouldnt go back and change anything about it. it lead my to this moment, watching the music video once again for the millionth time. it also keeps reminding me of my grandpa, who was a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy... this song reminds me of so many things. its hard to believe one song could remind you of so much.
i think this is one thing our two contrys can agree on; that this war has gone on too long thanks to those from not only britain but the us too. you keep us safe and our hope alive.God bless
I was on my balcony smoking a cigarette and this song popped in my head. I looked at my phone and realized it has literally been 18 days since I last seen my boyfriend. This is my first time watching the actual music video for the song and it made me ball my eyes out. I won't get to see my boyfriend again till September 20th. He's currently in boot camp but will graduate a United States Marine.
I hung out with these guys in Indy. At the Vogue in Broad Ripple. Along with my new GF. A very cool band. All very different. Great memories is really what matters. I was sober. Completely. But nobody was an idiot.
this music video brings a tear to my eye.... it's a cruel reality I experience being away from my wife, but we do what we do and we are proud. Anchors Aweigh guys
I remember we opened up for these guys on an acoustic tour they were doing. I didn't know to much about them until I watched them and I remember this song was amazing really made me really like and respect the band. We The Assembly

Southern Rock at it's best ! Miss the South 🥺
Timeless music that brings back memories or makes new ones ..
Thank you men for sacrificing and risking your freedom for mine and my family, thank you to the one who take the bullets for us. For Us
When I was injured in 2008, this was one of the few songs I could listen to and fall asleep. I was in unimaginable pain 24/7. This was one of those small things that made life bearable.
Just saw these guys in concert and the lead singer dedicated this song to those who have and are serving. God Bless America and God Bless those who keep our freedom and make it ours. Rock On!

Love music that relates to the military. Thanks to those that serve and served.
check out the song highway of heroes by a band here in Canada called the trews great song.
i just wanna say.. I LOVE OUR TROOPS! thank you all so much for everything you do for us.
The one thing that boot camp cant train you for is how to deal without your loved ones when you are deployed
It sorta does as you are separated from them for months with the only way to contact them is through letters.
The one thing they never train us for is coming home
@@timsnyder1873 agreed brother
Saw him in concert here in Indiana over the past weekend. Awesome show!
I just saw them in concert in Bonner Springs, KS!
Ive seen Aaving Abel twice in the past year on their revival tour, and Scotty does an AMAZING job with all the classic songs.

I haven't heard this song in so long. It's gotta be one of the best rock ballads written in the past decade.
This is the song here in 2020. Reminds me of someone very special. Wondering if I lost him somewhere
Along the way.
Same. This song and Addicted to you remind of Billy. Yes I definitely lost him in 2008, my fault, and still think of him all these years later.
I love these guys. They are playing for my shipmates at Great Lakes. I am currently a Navy Corpsman, and the fact they would put on a show for my shipmates on July 4th weekend is awesome. I want to thank everyone that serves their Country because its hard being away from family for so long.

18 Days
I walked up on the porch
Knocked on the door
Looked up and told him I was there
For the State of Tennessee
He wasn't too happy
He said he wanted to turn me inside out
Or up side down.
I knew that all I could do was hold my ground
I said i just need to ask you
A question or two about your daughter
She hasn’t been to school in 18 days
And I need to see her to make sure she is okay
And if you don’t mind
I would feel much better
If you would put that gun away.
