      It doesn't surprise me, most footage I have seen of Mexico in areas that hold to this myth, are overrun with dogs and many without owners. Starving? yes, Mange? yes/possibly as some dogs are hairless as a breed anyway. Frightened? extremely.
      These dogs look like, get this, and it is hairless breed and not from mange, Xoloitzcuintli or, now get this part, also known as Mexican Hairless or Xolo-May. So check out Xoloitzcuintli breed and look for yourself, I think these are what are being seen and found alive and dead, though barely alive. They were used as Doctor dogs because of the heat they gave off for arthritis and other ailments.

    A couple of years ago I was a newspaper carrier for the Houston Chronicle. My boss had wanted me to take a new newspaper route because the lady that had thrown that route was frightened. She said it scared her to be out in the country so dark. I accepted and took the route which was about an hour and a half to two hours long. The first day I had noticed she was right. Out in the country the roads were very dark and sometimes you wouldn't see a house for a couple of miles. There were a lot of crop fields. After a couple of days the only animals that would cross me were cute rabbits. I didn't know they were nocturnal. Then one day I was frightened by what looked like a creature shaped so odd. Its front legs were longer than the backs and had a long thick tail. Its skin was pale but what made me notice it was its eyes that glowed from the distant before it crossed in front of me and ran quickly across the road into the other field. I couldn't believe what I had seen. I knew about the chupacabra because my family would speak of such tales from Mexico. But I had believed it was from Mexico and stay in Mexico not come to Texas! I had also noticed that the ranchers had bodies of dead coyotes hung on the light posts on the side of the roads. I had gotten down from my vehicle on one of them to take a closer look and felt sad as to why they were doing that to these dogs. All they wanted was to survive I'm sure. The day I saw the creature was the day I quit that newspaper route.

    can't remember the name of the show, but a lady from Texas found an animal that looked something like these, then one day she found it on the side of the road, she sent it off to find out what it was and they said a cross between a dog and a coyote, there were tuffs of hair but mostly bald, they finally said it was what people probably called the chupacabra

    For #3 that's a xoloitzcuintli native to the Mexican republic an ancient Aztec dogs. Some of them can be found in the state of Oaxaca and even Frida Kahlo own the Xolo. They are very common in Mexico.

      I was going to comment the same thing!.. They are very interesting dogs & a big part of the Aztec culture, a lot of history & culture the dog holds. Glad that at least a few know this dog. Sucks that some died from being a strey.

    People frequently ask if my Peruvian hairless dog is a chupacabra. I always say yes. They also ask if she's a goat, a deer, or a hyena. People are extremely bad at recognizing animals without their usual coverings. They legitimately look at my dog and think she's a very small deer, walking down the street in batman pajamas.

    Those are all canids or vulpines with skin conditions (mainly mange). The one on the golf course could be a white nosed coati (those live in Texas) with the same conditions. Their movements are weird because they're in a fair amount of pain, between the mange and malnutrition. And the hairless dog descriptor isn't a 'classic' description. The weird reptilian looking thing with red eyes, quills on it's back and long claws is. People don't realize how alien animals look without fur, or with massive scabs on their bodies, or birth defects. So that's how the hairless dog description came to be associated with the Chupacabra (Look up the hairless Sun Bear, people thought it was an alien species too)... Besides, people claim the animals killed have the three point bite wounds..the mouths of these animals don't have teeth that would leave a mark like that.

  • @johnharjung2128
    @johnharjung2128 4 года назад +2

    I remember the classic chupacabra stories being a two legged creature with large red eyes and spines on its body and being really alien looking, when did that change to sad looking mange ridden canines ? I mean, those are two VERY different things... Also, apparently the people who find these things have never seen a freaking dog before, it's a well known fact that people see what they want to see, ask any psychologist or someone who interviews people for investigative studies or criminal cases.

    The second video was definitely a coyote with mange. The "unnatural" movements was the poor thing almost starved to death. You could see it's bones, those movements were movements of a sick and almost dead animal. Poor thing needed help.

    If these were real Chupacabra sightings, then this shows that the cryptid fears humans. So it isn't a threat to us. Secondly, it looks like a poor canine suffering from starvation and illness. Honestly, that makes this look sadder to me. Someone throw meat at it!
