  • To celebrate National Poetry Month and William Wordsworth’s 251st Birthday, we look at a very special copy of Wordsworth’s Complete Poetical Works (1837) in the Rare Book Collection. In the decade following its publication, this copy of Wordsworth’s poems became a place where two American poets, Maria White and James Russel Lowell, used Wordsworth’s poems to express and enhance their own life stories. Neil Weijer, Curator of Rare Books, reads their story off of the pages of their books, which came to UF as part of the Parkman Dexter Howe Library of New England Literature.
