A word of warning especially for insignias. While doing this. The car is supposed to be driven to keep the exhaust linkages cool if you check underneath the exhausts joining the mesh, will get red hot any oil near this will burn you can also melt the belly pans and catch them on fire. Torching the wheel arches the driver's side and everything with it. Also Vauxhall engines. Are better than ANY VW out there. My last car did 196k on my 09 plate only the DMF failed in the end but all fixable. Vauxhall engines have no end of life, unlike others.
Yeh I always recommend doing it while driving…. However in our case we observe and check everything while the green happens… also am not sure about Vauxhall engine lol they have head gasket issue, I’ve seen Vauxhalls that have only done 2000 miles and head gasket going it’s all cheap engines…
DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE A DIAGNOSIS SCANNER! I did this over the weekend & now my car will not start! (I even did 3k revs for 8 mins, rather than the suggested 3.5k for 15mins). Just revving it does NOTHING it to the DPF. Learn this the hard was for watching THIS video. Need to get into a scenario called 'spontaneous regeneration' or when all the criteria is met for the ECU to start adding more diesel into the engine to burn off the soot. You can do static regens using a diagnostic scanner but that's different again.
the problem is people dont know when the car is doing a regen and switch off multiple times which causes the problem,so a bit unfair to blame vauxhalls for being prone to it.
SA error P2453. Changed the sensor with genuine one from Vauxhall. After 2 days SVS pop up again, went back to garage and they say to me the readings of sensor are ok, and they told me could be a problem with ECU. And i notice car suddenly change idle speed. From 900 rpm, jumps to 1000, and sound like a tractor. Car is 1.7 diesel Astra J Eco flex 98 kw 2013 reg Any advice
Hi, when i try to regenerate the DPF , it doesn't work. I have 255% DPF accumulation. And my default code is P2558. What could i do ? It's an Opel Astra H 1,6cdti 136 2017.
Hi there SA Diagnostics. That’s a great tutorial to follow. I tried using the same procedure with the same diagnostic device for the DPF Regeneration. Immediately it starts to rev and gets up to 2000rmps, it de-revs and status reads error. I have tried it for 2 times now and still the same. Please is there a way you could assist me? I’m in Ghana by the way. Thank you
@@sadiagnosticsyes please I did that and it worked eventually but now it’s back and flashing like previously. I want to delete the DPF from the vehicle. Hi you need to reset the dpf sensor first then do the regeneration and this should work unless there’s a faulty part on the car that’s causing the dpf regen to stop and cut out
Hi Sir. Sure I’ll reset the DPF sensor and try again. If it shoots back, then there must be a fault as you have stated. Please there is any way I can contact you off here??
You should be fine as long as you don’t have them lights on dashboard but if you do then you need diagnostic machine to do the job other wise it will not reset. Plus it’s better to take it for a drive rather than stand still regen
nice work appreciate this video, struggling with our DPF, bought a code reader, it shows the dpf, since then Ive ran at 3500 revs around the ring road for approx 45 mins, twice and still no luck. I have two options, main dealer repair, new dpf, egr etc., (what else would need replacing?) or buy an Autel diagnostic tool for a reset, what would you recommend? It went into limp mode 12 months ago, £1200 bill, cars gone again! Need it fixing for as long as possible, any suggestions? Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, A decent diagnostic machine can also reset the dpf. Realistically you only need to Reset DPF sensor and then you can go for a blast and everything should be good unless your sensor is faulty. But if you can find someone to reset it for you then your all good.
Im having the exact same issue mate but now the dpf light has stoppped flashing and its completely gone however the car has gone into limp mode. I have. A diag machine but its not picking it up. (HELP)
When ever my DPF light comes on I will instantly hammer it down the motorway for 15 minutes until the DPF warning goes off and never had a problem in the last 4 years but my wife will just ignore it on her car and play dumb through being lazy and cost her over a £1000 to put right.
Mate, this car did not have a dpf issue, the issue was with the exhaust temp sensor 1. It was reading value of 0. The exhaust temp sensors on these determine dpf regen hence it’s telling cat that dpf is full when it isn’t. Needs a new egt sensor mate
I must of done 100s of these dpf regeneration especially on Audi, Ford, Seat, Skoda, VW & Vauxhall. DPF is a common issue in these make of cars and especially in Vauxhall. Majority of the Taxi driver have this issue and 9/10 cars I’ve solved by doing DPF regeneration odd one here and there required changing the temperature sensor due to short circuit to ground.
Dry grass behind exhaust during dpf cleaning???????
🔥🔥🔥
I've had two J edition 2.0 CDTI, never had a DPF issue with either of them. The 1.7 is problematic, but the 2.0 are rock solid.

They should have a light that lets you know. I know it's doing because of the revs are slightly up but my wife hasn't a clue and just switches it off

Maybe you’ll need a better diagnostic machine to get into the dpf sensors…
Why do vauxhalls smoke, are you talking in general or during dpf regen.
80% of time durning regeneration they smoke and majority of time when they hit a specific mileage or not even that they will start smoking.
Good video mate

Yeh dpf are costly and so much headache but yeh best idea is to do a motorway run every week if you do lots of internal runs.

That’s incorrect, cause the DPF regeneration actually solved it. It would say short circuit if temp sensor was faulty or not receiving signal.
