Trivia: The Husteads (the family that started Wall Drug) got their animatronic cowboy display from a department store in the 1940s...it was originally a window display.
Whoa! I'm a canadian girl, and my grandparents took me here in my childhood. Wall Drug popped into my head out of nowhere the other day, and sure enough here it is! Those signs definitely work. Thanks for the video!
Jacob ,Back in the Early 1990's I drove 18 wheeler ...I remember Seeing those signs for hundreds of Miles and Wondered "What the Hell is Wall Drug? " .I finally pulled in off the Highway and it was so Small that I couldn't fit my Rig in the parking lot So I pulled back out to the Highway ..Never got to see it in person
@MidnightRunner,,, i think you are correct,,, i went there during family summer vacation long ago,,, and it wasn't so big,,, but lately it has grown and grown and now it is HUGE
I got the Wall Free Drug post card. Its got a horse in the middle of the card drinking and it says Refreshing! Free Ice Water Wall Drug. Picked this up 6/8/1993. Its in perfect Condition
Thank you for this video! It was like a walk down memory lane! I have pictures of me as a kid next to some of the figures on that board walk if you want I can send you the pictures I even have pictures of me as a child at mount Rushmore. We used to take trips to South Dakota all the time.
Yes!!!!! South Dakota resident here, so glad you finally got to see Wall Drug! I'm just peeved I didn't see these videos until about three months late...gotta love the RUclips algorithm. I live on the east side of SD and have only been to Wall twice since I've lived here. I've never even seen some of the stuff you showed! Most if not all of the animatronics were off when I last went earlier this year due to the cold. It's a really fun place to go for that essential South Dakota charm.
Your videos give me so much entertainment, love your travels to places I no longer am able to visit. I do hope RUclips wakes up someday before it's too late!
we went to wall drug! we were on a roadtrip to Minnesota, which was a 16 hour car ride, and we saw so many signs advertising, each maybe a half mile apart and we got so hype for it, so we stopped- and we were underwhelmed.
I enjoyed your video. You put the best possible spin on one of the STUPIDEST tourist traps in America. I've lived in South Dakota most of my life, and have made the obligatory stop at Wall Drug on a number of occasions.
Great video! I've never been there. RUclips executives should monetize this video and share the wealth with Carpetbagger. He deserves it more than executives sitting in a high rise executive suite.
enjoyed this video, being a ND resident born and raised I spent a lot of childhood vacations in SD, which I LOVE. l was too young to remember much about wall drug so LOVED this video. Best part, you sitting on the huge JACKALOPE ! Hilarious. Keep up great videos, miss Adam the Woo, both of you my daily You Tube indulgence. Thanks for the great Wall Drug video !
I grew up watching re-run after re-run of the brady bunch and Gilligans island . B/ W and 4 channels to choose from watching The Carpetbagger twice or more is a piece of cake .
Glad to see your curiousity satisfied from when you were 10 years old and there wasn't room in the car for you! Why is it the sun barely shines in SD? Great video. Glad to see this video finally! Take care buddy. Jacob love your videos! ♥
Many years ago, my parents and I drove from Wiscosin to Yellowstone. We stopped at Wall Drug going out and coming back. I still have the pretty Navajo made vase I bought there. As I've told people, it's the world's largest tourist trap, and we stopped there twice.
When you walked behind the horse, for a moment I thought you were going to run up, leapfrog over it's back end to land on it's back! But yeah, I would have taken the stairs, too! lol As far as the T-Rex goes, it's not that it EATS every 15 minutes, so much as complains that he's hungry. Drama Queen Rex! Good video! Thanks, Jacob!
Clearly wall drugs ability to maintain its animatronics remains unchanged to this day. Great place to create an impression on children that will stay with them for eternity.
Awesome! I have been wanting to see this place ever since I read about it in my Roadside America book! I loved seeing all the signs along the road. Fun to see you ride the horse and jackalope 😁
I used to work at Wall Drug for a summer gig while in university. It was interesting, met some international students there (they have a summer program for international students). Off season, not a lot of people. I used to work in the country store where they sell the fudge so I would hear Zoltar do his thing, used to work in the backyard so I heard the T-Rex go off. The sluice area you can pan for stones, buy huge calcite pieces, crack geodes. The raccoons do a spiel, I think like three sets. They're names are Rocky and Dug ... I think. Rocky for sure. I can talk all day about that place and the area.
I bought that exact jackalope bank when I went to wall drug as a kid almost 20 years ago! So glad some things stay the same, this place is the best kind of tacky.
I remember visiting Wall Drug a couple times back in the 80s. Loved the kitch and I want to go back again one day. I love weird stuff like this.
Looks about the same as it did 15 years ago. Cool little town. It like you said, this one is definitely a trap.
TJ Hemphill 'cept. they put up a YOLO sign!
Trivia: The Husteads (the family that started Wall Drug) got their animatronic cowboy display from a department store in the 1940s...it was originally a window display.
+snarkus63 it's pretty amazing
I think it's time for a repair lmfao 😳
@Champsy 2004 Sorry it took so long to respond....the group starting at 11:52 .
Other trivia they didn’t start wall drug they bought it.
Those things look so bad that they look _fake._
They look like props of crappy animatronics from a horror movie or a comedy or something. 😆
I think the cowboy in the green shirt had a stroke or something. I'd definitely stop here, looks fun!
That little fence isn't going to keep that dinosaur in....
Whoa! I'm a canadian girl, and my grandparents took me here in my childhood. Wall Drug popped into my head out of nowhere the other day, and sure enough here it is! Those signs definitely work. Thanks for the video!
The animatronic snakeoil tonic guy was very convincing!
4:35
"It'll even make it longer!"
Uhhh, are we still talking about lifespan?
LOL 😆🙉
@Ryan Carter 😄😃😀😊☺😉

It appeared. With Ads. My fav part was the couple backing away from the T-Rex.
Yeah “Back away... Fucking back away”
Glad you finally made it to Wall Drug. It is a really fun place to visit. Lots of neat stuff to see!!
You brighten my day Carpetbagger. Looks like a great place to explore

Bizarre and weird . Love it all. I love those kinds of things .
That place was fun, I’m glad you went and film it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Man, this brings me back! It hasn’t changed a bit!
My favorite part was the suspense of trying to spot the next sign. I found a geocache there too!
I remember going there years ago. Still is a nice road stop
I got the Wall Free Drug post card. Its got a horse in the middle of the card drinking and it says Refreshing! Free Ice Water Wall Drug. Picked this up 6/8/1993. Its in perfect Condition
Glad you made it!

I was there in the 50's. Sure has changed a lot since then.

Enjoyed watching the cowboys singing
Visited Wall Drug way back in 1981 for the first time !
One of my favorite places to go all time!
Your videos give me so much entertainment, love your travels to places I no longer am able to visit. I do hope RUclips wakes up someday before it's too late!
looks like you had an exciting horse ride!
I have been waiting for you to visit Wall Drug Store since you started your South Dakota videos. Thanks!
I so hope you went to the Ranch Store (East of Wall) and fed the prairie dogs!
I love how you climb up on the bronc and the Jackelope that didn’t do anything that was funny
we went to wall drug! we were on a roadtrip to Minnesota, which was a 16 hour car ride, and we saw so many signs advertising, each maybe a half mile apart and we got so hype for it, so we stopped- and we were underwhelmed.
8:19 - "Maybe poker's just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!"
odin von zero
That’s perfect! 😂
11:07 - 11.20 got me a-giggling
I enjoyed your video. You put the best possible spin on one of the STUPIDEST tourist traps in America. I've lived in South Dakota most of my life, and have made the obligatory stop at Wall Drug on a number of occasions.
Oh my god, I had flashbacks to like, 2007 RUclips when you showed off the dinosaur, I saw him on here long ago.
Great video! I've never been there. RUclips executives should monetize this video and share the wealth with Carpetbagger. He deserves it more than executives sitting in a high rise executive suite.
I love that snake oil salesman animatronic!
Found this and realized hadnt seen it. Awesome roadside place. Keep Safe❤ Keep Well ❤
Those cowboys are clearly having a stroke

"Another things not so free"... Like that $10.99 hamburgers sign behind you 😂
Love seeing you made your point after watching your live vlog last night what a good video cbagger!...
12:05 I think the one in the green shirt is having a stroke.
Looks like a fun place! T-Rex reminded me of the dinosaur on Toy Story!
the gorilla playing the piano idea definitely came from rock-afire
I grew up watching re-run after re-run of the brady bunch and Gilligans island . B/ W and 4 channels to choose from watching The Carpetbagger twice or more is a piece of cake .

The weird mix of basic animatronics and taxidermy fucking warms my heart
A perfect combination
Hey you should do a travel group with fans that want to travel with you one time
That was fun, but good gosh all that dust on the animated snake oil salesman. Yikes! Great video.
Giddy up go, the carpetbagger rides again!
I haven't been to wall drug since I was a kid definitely has changed
Wow I have a 6 Original post cards from Wal Drug SD got in 1993. love this place.
Glad the weather cooperated for ya, it's usually windy : )
PS, you missed the homeade donuts.
Adam the Woo would be proud.

Hey! I live in SD!! i'm 18 years old and i'm terrified of the T-Rex! You should visit the 1880 Town near Murdo, SD!
I went there , the badlands , devils tower , dad used to take us on amazing trips!
That gorilla playing the piano is called Sam the gorilla he used to be creepy, but they fixed his model a few years ago
A roadside attraction that is worth driving right by!
The mannequins look. like Knott's Berry Farm.
I was here like 9 or 10 years ago with my grandparents
You should be on the Travel Channel!
I went to Wal Drug when the streets were dirt. Ohhh man
When you walked behind the horse, for a moment I thought you were going to run up, leapfrog over it's back end to land on it's back! But yeah, I would have taken the stairs, too! lol

Wall Drug was cool but your right it doesn't beat Pedro Land !
Nicely designed
Ad yes , HOOKED chat stories new begining 🖒
Loved the video, but that darn Happy Trails song is totally stuck in my head now!
For $10.99 that 'hot hamburger' ought to have drugs in it!
Family trip, as a kid. Unfortunately, I don't remember much. The Cowboy orchestra, was super creepy!
Hot Hamburger for $10.99?! That better be a great burger
Joshua Harris Vlogs Yeah Seriously
+Joshua Harris Vlogs I think it is buffalo
My dad went to the Dakotas once, and tried a “hot hamburger”. It’s a meat patty, bread, thin gravy, and fried potatoes. He hated it!
I thought the same.
Yay!!! I saw an ad i hope that means adsense is working.
Love your videos! Gotta say, I laugh out loud every time you do the "wheeeeeee" sound and shake the camera when looking at something scary!
Hi Jacob, a very cute, quaint little town. They actually packed quite a lot in. Nice video, thank you x
I likes that... the start reminded me of when I first watched your videos.. the first one I saw you in was the abandoned table sale
I love this place! We're going back there next month (For Rapid City but be always come here while driving to Rapid City)

Looks like you certainly have dugg, Wall Drug.. Now giddy up on that rabbit ...partner!!!😰
the t rex use to go higher and swipe at the wires to show that it wasn't electrified
So glad this posted
I want too go back too Wall SD someday I loved it back in 97 it was a cool place.
Fun Stuff, Free ice water for everyone. Back in the day with no air conditioning, you could see how that would draw in people.
Hi Jacob, Thanks for this video, I need to go there. I love the Jackolopes. My daughter has a rabbit and they make wonderful pets. Say hi to Adam.
I only enjoy ads with you and Adam and redlettermedia.
Haha the ice machine.....I'm rollin. Don't stop your trademark hiss and shake because that's amazing.
