Hey, I'm also a filipino student planning to buy a chuwi device with the same specs. Is it good for school? Have you tried valorant on it? Does it still run smoothly?
Hello Guys, sorry for the late reply. I must say that the gemibook handles my task decently, I mostly just do basic coding and play old games like cs 1.6, and warcraft. It is not advisible to game with famous titles right now like valorant as it will frame drop in gunfight the laptop is not as powerful as today's standard specs like i3 gen12 but it will do just fine with social media, doing documents and etc. Just put your expectation lower than expected as it is the cheapest laptop out there with this specs. No upgradability whatsoever but hey it is reliable for me as a student.
@@Drayy-143 it was good for me, I don't really have any issue with it. I only use it mostly just for school and coding, my experience with it is great for its price I hope it will last long enough for me to graduate 😄
I've always preferred a more matt screen as having screen glare is horrendous. I also like the 16:9 aspect ratio. The lack of external ports is a downside but all in all it looks pretty good and for the first time in a long time we now have a budget end Intel processor that does what you would want it to.
Thanks for the review. Honestly, I have my eyes on this device and I don't know much about laptops. I'm just a student who needs a laptop for school uses like ppt making. Is it capable of that kind of stuff? I usually use canva.
why do you consider 16:9 ratio as a con?? All my past laptops (and my current tablet) has either a 16:9 or 16::10 screen. No problems whatsoever... I don't understand how is it supposed to be smaller just bcoz its 16:9. Did I miss a memo or something?
If it had a larger screen, say a 15.6 or 17, then 16:9 would be okay. With a smaller 13 or 14 inch display, having 16:9 makes the screen feel far smaller, and you have less useable space to work in than if it were 3:2.
Why use fans for a low TDP CPU? This laptop had the perfect opportunity to compete against m1 macbooks battery life because of its low power consumption, but it only has a 38 wh battery (pretty small for a 14 inch) that lasts around 5 hours of use. Graphics design, it really depends on what packages you use. If it's for 2D design, you should generally be safe though. Gemibook Pro is an older processor, and on Windows 10- avoid that. Go for the Gemibook XPro, Gemibook Plus (same, with a larger display and more I/O), or if you want more power and a nice 3:2 aspect ratio, try the CoreBook X. Seriously, if I was to grab a laptop now, that'd be the one. 3:2 makes a HUGE difference when it comes to laptops. Makes your screen feel much larger than it really is.
