I am a Goan myself & very much hurt & sorry to hear your bitter experience with the Goa Police. Thanks for making the people aware the rude treatment rendered to you'll by Goa police. This is gross injustice done to our tourist only for the sake of few Rupees. Such a disgrace.

We love to entertain our visitors irrespective of any religion. True goans love to sing, dance, enjoy lovely food & drinks. We love to make friends. This is our culture.

I went to goa and decided to never visit again. Worst place full of fraud not only by police it start from taxi drivers to water sports everywhere. I just regreted it 4 days spoiled. I went to bali and was amazed by hospitality and honesty of people there. Shame to Goa tourism.

I am a Goan living overseas for the past 25+ years. This is the very reason that forced me to leave my beautiful state of Goa.
I have also experienced this corruption in all levels of government right from the elected ministers to the guy trying to sell the toilet paper in the public toilet which is supposed to be free.
The only solution is to expose them to the public as much as possible like your videos do and hoping for things to change. Also if the local news media can pick up on this would be helpful.

We had visited Goa. At Calangute beach my son's pocket with cash , moreover with cards got stolen and we were left high and dry.
Hotel where we had booked hotel one week in advance , on reaching , said he does not know who we are !!!!!
In one incidence We were terrorised by a Hindi speaking rowdy !!!!
We were very sad to see the sad state of in Goa.

This is really true, rightly said that Goa police is the most corrupt police in India. Unnecessarily they will harras the tourists for bribe.
Traffic police in goa is a disgrace. I have travelled to other states by road and never ever police have troubled/harassed me. Infact police have been very helpful to us. Hope this video will put an end to harassment to our local tourist. They bring revenue to the state. It's very sad.

Same thing happened with us on 18 June near Panjim circle. They stopped my friend and got hold of the licence first and then said that insurance is expired and when we shown the insurance copy they said that my friend was drunk. It was morning 10:30 and we were visiting the Panjim church. He threatened to file a case and asked for 500 rupees and asked us to leave.
Really, i will avoid goa next time. With same price we can go to Thailand......
They think that they earned some money but in reality they did a huge loss of their own.

I live in goa since two years I have seen this myself. Cops here harass tourist spcly bikes a lot . If u don't look local. They try to harass you as nd take advantage of it. It's really sad to see it happening over and over again in a welcoming and hospitable place like Goa. 🙄

In Goa, it's a big nexus between state authorities and corrupt people. Either you take police, RTO, hospitals, hotels, bars. They will threat you that once they trap you then you have to appear in Goan court every now and then. Hence, I stopped holidaying in Goa, now I prefer Hill Stations

I am from Goa (Goan) while I am abroad in gulf country my niece who is police officer. She took 2 flats belonging to me and my daughter. She took advantage of my sister during her dying moment by tampering with the WILLs and Nominee papers without asking me. She did this by going to the Muncipal Council wearing her polce uniform. What a shame on government who allows them to wear their polce uniform and do these things. My niece name is Ninette Quados from Vasco Da Gama.

Goa is my native place... This year I have seen many police stopping tourists, locals, even Russians were stopped in front of me.. They are so corrupt... It looks like tourist rates will soon go down and then govt will have to re think their extortion strategy... Recently BJP has won and corruption is on peak.. I feel very bad... My beautiful place is losing its charm.

Am a Goan based elsewhere. Lately, on my visit to my family back home, my wife & myself, took our Goa registered scooter to visit the Goa Elec Dept office situated in a inner by-lane in Mapusa, to pay my Elec Bill. While taking the said by-lane up, had noticed a gang of nearly 10 policemen in khakhi, not of d traffic wing, standing around with their jeep parked on d road. Thought they were on some investigation duty, so without enquiring, went up d by-lane, just a few minutes ahead to d Office, paid d Elec Bill, and returned. Soon, realised their strategy of standing hidden, and no sooner one returns down that lane, they swoop & pounce down. Without even giving me a reason for being stopped, despite my assuming it to be a one-way by lane or so as I had d helmet too, & requested that I was unaware & would go back the same road, yet the guy coolly says, everyone says d same thing & that he would challan me just a minimum of Rs.500 as though the amount of Rs.500 is small & ill-gotten.
It is surprising to note that the Police Dept has so many personnel to spare for a inner by-lane, but looking to the rough & high speed riding between Mapusa Porvorim road & elsewhere too, they have no manpower, and the ones posted at the Mapusa & Porvorim end r either missing or seen not even moving their hands & feet, busy on their mobiles on duty, resulting in frequent fatal accidents. The reason, the more the accidents, d more they can fleece the Public to get the police paper work needed for insurance purpose.
Another incident of rampant corrupt practice by d Police. My wife driving her scooter in a narrow bylane around their house came across a young girl coming from across, learning to drive with no licence, lost balance & fell for her own fault, and even captured on d CCTV footage too. Later, in d evening a big group of that girl, come to d house accusing my wife of causing injury etc. Indeed, unable to slow down & even brake, she herself had fallen off with no collision impact to either vehicle, but they had d audacity to file a Police Complaint, whereby d shady Police arrived & took my wifes vehicle to Mapusa Police Station, and to collect it later. Despite, my wifes vehicle being insured, and driven with a valid licence, while d young girl with no licence & who fell of her own fault of a sudden front braking or so. Yet, the Police said she had fractured her arm, and conveniently took Rs.2,000 from my wife & am unaware how much was taken from d girls side, only then was permitted to take d vehicle. Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance of both vehicles provide for Own & Third Party damage Property/Personal Injury etc is on mere paper. All these looted unaccounted amounts illegally collected r all shared among themselves & the local MLA/MP landing in d coffers of d ruling party, so it is not just other domestic tourists being victimised, but our own locals falling prey too. Honesty from Taxi operators, police, courts, govt hospitals & offices, etc hv all gone to d dogs esp with errant & misbehaved domestic tourists on Rent a Bike/Car on d rise. Bring back d Portuguese as these shamsters campaigning For & By d People etc r all absolutely unfit to rule us but r out there solely for vested interests regardless of Party.
This nuisance is not only in Goa but in Gujarat & elsewhere too, can all Political Parties hv just one Agenda against corruption, as only then things would fall in place & improve..
I am not defending / blaming any state, but this happens in every state when RTO catches non native vehicles…! They have set targets to be achieved monthly basis..! Now you know the reason why there are high rates for anything and everything at tourist places.

I want to tell one incident which happened in Goa.My brother is working in Goa .On 27th March night 5-6 people attacked on him and one of his colleague😑🥹🥹.They showed them knife and were asking for 40k.and after that they have scattered some liquid (may be chloroform)on my brother's face and his colleagues face.and brought them to candolim silent area ..they snatched the mobile phones as well and thrown two of them(my brother and his colleague)to one of the darkest area.
This is the worst thing happened in goa.Govt please do take immediate action on this matter.This should not happen with anyone.

गोवा में आज से नहीं कई कई सालो से ऐसा ही चला आता है।
1985 के आसपास में पहेली और आखरी बार गोवा गया था उसके बाद कभी नही गया।
एक बात जो हम सारे दोस्त शिप से उतरते ही जो पहला अनुभव हुआ वो बताता हूं।
हमे पंजिम के पास आए छोटे से गांव में जाना था। टैक्सी वाले को पूछा तो 2000 रुपए बताए। पास खड़ा पुलिसवाले को बताया तो उसने भी कहा की बराबर है। पीछे से आ रहा हमारा दोस्त जो गोवा का मूल निवासी था और हमे उसके गांव में उसीके घर जाना था। उसने आकर टेक्सीवालो से गोवानिज में बात किया और टेक्सीवाला सिर्फ और सिर्फ 100 रुपए में मान गया। कहां 100 और कहां उसने मांगे थे 2000 रुपए।
100 रुपए भी हमारे मुंबई के हिसाब से बहुत ज्यादा थे। अगर हम मुंबई में इतने अंतर के लिए टैक्सी करते तो ज्यादा में ज्यादा 25 रुपए होते।
I heard u say that even Rent pe bike dene waale mile hue hain, bro even I give bikes on rent, n I even these Goa police stopped me, I m also a local Goan, these police use to hide n then suddenly come in front of the bike. In 2016 Ola/Uber Cabs entered in Goa but Goans local Taxi 🚕 Drivers so called AGT (All Goa Tourist) fought with them destroyed many cabs n boycott Ola/Uber but bcz of many tourists Compliments to d PS how local drivers extorting money illegally from Tourist, finally Goa Ex PM #Manohar Parikar Passes a Law n introduce Goa Miles Taxi which is little higher then Ola/Uber but it's hardly to b seen on roads .....
