    One detail I forgot to add regarding JP's Rift (QCB+P), each strength correlates with how fast it will burst. Light being the fastest and Heavy being the slowest.

    • @Addych
      @Addych Год назад +2

      Also the distance the opponent is knocked back. Heavy being full screen.

    • @Alexavian

      This I did even think was a thing, this matters a lot in the corner

    As a JP main this was a great guide...very precise and straight to the point! On a quick side note...his air throw is ridiculously good. I catch players with it all the time

    • @nugzmedallion8929
      @nugzmedallion8929 Год назад +2

      Air throw can win games sometimes, especially if you don't throw it out a lot and catch them off guard near the end of a round.

  • @nugzmedallion8929
    @nugzmedallion8929 Год назад +16

    Here's another good tip for JP players: if you throw out a starter like b.MP>MP or HK>HP and they're blocking, you can cancel into the command grab instead of continuing the pressure. As long as you're not too predictable, it can often get free advantage from a blocking opponent.

    • @AcidArmy_
      @AcidArmy_ Год назад

      Isn’t this quite reactable at 22 or smth frames?

    • @nugzmedallion8929
      @nugzmedallion8929 Год назад +3

      @@AcidArmy_ of course it is, but I can't tell you how many times I've caught people with it because almost everyone expects you to close out a JP target combo with his qcf+P or perhaps even a fireball, so they tend to keep blocking. It doesnt work every time and there are definitely times I've been caught trying, but there are also times when that command grab option won me a match. Not saying it's always a good idea, but it's a nice trick to add to the JP arsenal

    If remembering the spike ODs is difficult for anyone, a good way to remember them is that the light OD uses the two lightest punches(L+M), the heavy OD uses the two heaviest (M+H), and the medium OD is inbetween (L+H). I think of the medium one as kind of stretching it out. Both L and H trying to take it so it goes in the middle of them. As for the rifts, the OD versions just summon both rifts of the buttons you press.

    After the crouch light kick > crouch light punch> crouch light punch string you can do a standing heavy punch, most light attacks will miss and you can then get a punish counter into a conversion (Zangief's lights go too far for this)

    How is JP’s theme an absolute banger and the rest of the games music is pretty much trash???
    Also, what an amazing video man. Thanks so much. I’ve been practicing him just by myself and figuring things out and this guide is definitely what I needed to start putting things together. Excellent work. You more than earned my like and subscribe 🙏

    ty so much for making it in a way that beginners can understand there’s nothing worse than clicking on a combo vid or guide where they show an elaborate combo that leaves you empty of resources just to do 200 more damage than a much shorter one with less resource loss optimal combo vids are wayyyy more important
