The sr71 is actually more notable for its decent speed at very high altitudes, instead of just raw speed. Fun fact, the things were very much capable of tearing themselves apart during their missions, and in fact did at least once. They needed ludicrous maintenance efforts to ensure they wouldn't, and even with those maintenance efforts they still were a razor's edge from catastrophic failure. Still hasn't been a plane (that we know of) that can do exactly the same job as it.
You know, they made three YF-12's and they actually functioned.... Not "would have" used, but rather USED but not put into official service as plane and weapons system. They successfully live fire tested those missiles from the plane at Mach 3.

Ummmmmm no dude the SR-71 out competed the YF-12 in testing and was used quite a bit by the USAF. And the one he is flying is definitely the SR-71 I have saw both they are similar but you can tell between the two. And I think what happened is ur writing is u got confused between the two. Another reason could have been because the YF-12 went about 12 miles faster but still lost the selection to the SR-71 because the Blackbird had a camera that could rotate to the side of the aircraft. This was important because after the U-2 crash ( a different Cold War spy plane ) they didn’t want to risk sending on over the Russian border in fear that another crash could have drastic effects on the war and the camera was so good it could fly along the border and look in and still perform extraordinarily. Or you could have seen a photo on google. And the YF-12 has a rounded nose and the SR-71 has a flat one.

I do believe recon aircraft could be a new class in the game. All sorts of recon prop aircraft could be available at low level Tank RB. They cost tons of points to spawn and there’s only one per team. They can spot tanks and the name tags on spotted tanks can appear to players through walls. At higher BR’s things like the blackbird or AWACS craft could be deployed in Air and Ground RB, doing the same thing.

the (autistic) nitpick to this idea is that the Blackbird was never used for that kind of job, and doesn't have a datalink, meaning real-time transmission of any data a Blackbird collects can't be received until the plane lands.

Well it's over Mach 2, it can't hit those speeds at low altitude, it's actually pretty slow until you get it to high altitude
