- Red to Raptors is the series where Will and I use our combined jungle knowledge (reviewing over 1000 of Will's soloq games from Diamond 1 to Rank 1 NA) to help aspiring young players.
This is the content that WE wanted when we first got to Diamond 1/Master to take our gameplay to the next level in Challenger.
You will learn the review techniques that we used to get Will to the top of the NA soloq Ladder as a jungler.

The best jungle show without question.
Hard agree with Nathan about the crab in the khazix game. Doing krugs into crab saves you legit 15 seconds and if the graves paths toplane u can't contest anyways. If however the graves is pathing botlane like he did, there's no way he can contest u in time so you are better off being efficient and getting crab on 3:30! Keep up this good content guys! :D
I think Will is thinking right. he is rank 2 so i think his experience proof this idea.

1st crab is 83 experience, 1st krugs is 213 experience. Krugs take ~25s to take at lvl2, faster at lvl3. 1st crab is instant to kill, but it takes 10s to walk from Red to crab, 10s to walk back, for 20s total. 83xp for 20s is worse than 213xp for 25s, UNLESS hovering lanes for countergank, then might as well take/fight for crab.
Kha finishes Krugs 330, gets to scuttle 340-345 depending on scuttle pathing. Graves would have to 5 camp and walk straight top to be there in time, which means you win in XP bc he skipped krugs. Even two 1st crabs is worth less XP than Krugs.

One question popped up for me during the Krugs vs Crab first discussion. Isn't it also relevant that if you do Krugs first, its better, because they will respawn faster to potentionally take them faster on your next spawn? Basically even if the timing is the same, you would like your camp first because you want that to respawn asap? Or is that not a correct mindset?
I agree! That's a point the most comments aren't regarding but is super important imo. Being able to do another full clear after the first in the same sequenze without needing to wait for krugs to respawn is big. Especially as khazix who needs level 6 asap.

I think khazix can buy serrated dirk on first back with full clear plus 1 crab if he has futures market. Makes crab > krugs something to consider to guarantee his power spike. I assume he has futures market since he's running first strike.
Haven't been jungling for a full season. Any exception to that rule (elo,games,etc)?
It's is definitely better to go krugs into crab because it factors in on your 2nd clear. If you had gone crab thne after you clear 2nd raptors you have lik 30 seconds before your 2nd krugs spawn where you are just standing around. It is the same reason that junglers are recommended to go raptors into krugs and then red buff, because cycling the smaller camps matters more than the buff or the 1st crab.
I would 100% do kruggs and then crab there I agree with Nathan

Are we gonna pretend putting 750 gold on yourself as a carry jungler and denying aphelios a whole wave isn't worth trading dragon for? Yes he stumbled on himself after, but to argue that wasn't the right play when thresh is one HP is crazy. Not embracing the chaotic nature of solo q and forming a rigid framework to play every game.
I understand some poor decisions led him to that situation, but don't let that influence your judgement of the next best possible move. That was a 1k gold swing to lose a dragon. Netted your xayah some farm too and a position to freeze and farm safely.
Also Nathan is right about the crab.
Nathan and will getting sloppy in these reviews. So quick to point out a mistake or a EOR even though the decision is fine, if not a little slow. Feels like we're on autopilot guys come on
