NXT is successful as it is and it has its place and purpose; to develop new young talent in a controlled environment. With the success they’ve had doing this, I wouldn’t change a thing in NXT. Bringing back WCW is the best idea they could have, but they don’t need to cannibalize NXT to do it. WWE can relaunch WCW Nitro as a new third touring main roster brand, and sell its TV rights to a network like FOX, which wanted to keep SmackDown but not at their current value. They could sell the rights to monthly or bimonthly WCW PLEs to Peacock, Netflix, Prime or even Max. I agree Bischoff, DDP, Nash, Sting and other WCW legends (Flair, Hogan, Goldberg, Booker, Rey Mysterio, Jericho, Scott Steiner, Jarrett) should minimally be involved. I doubt Bischoff would be up to “run” WCW due to all the travel and stress that entails, but I would push for it and at least have him as a consultant. Heyman should be involved as well. WWE has a healthy creative/production staff and they could certainly grow it to cover a 3rd main show, with HHH still “running” it with the help of the likes of Bruce Pritchard, William Regal, Shawn Michaels, Michael Hayes, Nick Aldis, etc. Someone else that could help run it is Scott D’Amore. Speaking of Scott D’Amore, WWE is currently working close with TNA, so how about buying them (they should be very cheap relatively speaking) and using part of that IP and talent in a mix with the WCW IP and aforementioned talent? You could have a new WCW with a revitalized Cruiserweight/X-Division. You could feature War Games but also Ultimate X matches. Use some main WWE superstars like AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar, Charlotte Flair, Bobby Lashley, Finn Balor, maybe even Cody Rhodes, to make it an equal brand to RAW and SmackDown, add some underutilized midcard talent like Hector Garza, Ciampa, Gargano, Andrade, Carlito, Apollo, re-sign some recent releases like Ziggler, Riddle, Elias, Riddick Moss, Boogs, Ali, etc.) and throw in some ready NXT talent (Gallus, Roxanne, Jacy Jane, Gigi Dolin), and you would have a balanced roster throughout the card feeding WCW nostalgia but also fresh. I can’t wait for it!
There’s no way this can be true but man how I wish it was. If they hired Bischoff it have to be as talent, he was more a business guy in WCW. What they’d need is a really good booker. Don’t think they have to rebrand NXT, WWE has way too many people on the roster. Adding another brand might actually help with the bloat. They could make it all part of an angle, even ”sue” WWE to get their belts back. Whoever holds the belt has to either relinquish their title, or move to WCW. Also adding WCW could also mean USA network wouldn’t lose a show, just make it Tuesday or Wednesday Night Nitro.
