    Don't forget that the 'sacrifice guy' being killed by the first shot means you'll get some huge splash hits from the second/third hit on the same turn.
    You could also take an avenger to pick those guys off before firing the trebuchet.

    6:20 Also you get the reroll to hit and in the way rolls if you pair the engine with a troll ,that is normal base rule in the siege engine part of rules, it is just the assault on helm's deep legion gets this without having to include a troll. i got a uruk-hai engineering captain (named RED) he has under his command 3 ballista team (9 uruk-hai) and 3 trolls(for each ballista) [65X3]+50+[110X3]= 575

    For shooting into combat, are you going along the lines of: Piercing shot - in the ways for who in the combat it hits if the final designated target is in combat; Volley fire - hits who you designated regardless and no in the ways for being in combat?
    And: Piercing shot - others in combat with victim unaffected unless they are in line with the fling (I.e. Not residually knocked prone wherever they're standing); and Volley Fire - others in combat with the victim just hit by splash damage and knocked prone?

    • @EntmootVideos
      @EntmootVideos  4 года назад +1

      Good question!
      I would rule it that you roll to hit as normal, then scatter as normal.
      Then if someone chooses to hit someone in combat you roll in the ways to see who takes the primary hit.
      Then work out splash damage and or piercing shots after that depending on who it hits.
      Does that makes sense?

    • @jonners606
      @jonners606 4 года назад +1

      @@EntmootVideos yeah, makes total sense for how I imagine the piercing shot, but volley fire ones make a big deal of not doing any in the way rolls. The confusing line is "all models in the combat are automatically hit" then the FAQ "only the direct target is hit by the initial shot". So that clears up that not every model takes the full strength insta kill hit, but then the question is: who is the ONE that does? The designated target (after Scatter of course), or then a roll off if that final target is in combat? The ruling about sailing over heads and landing straight on the target could mean that it can just drop on exactly who you want even if they are in combat so that's what I imagine for volley fire, but that piercing shot does have to differentiate with in the ways as it takes all in the ways and is coming in on a flatter trajectory.

    • @EntmootVideos
      @EntmootVideos  4 года назад +1

      jonners606 ooh I see your point, yeah, looking at the faq id play no in the ways at all. so just roll to hit the guy you want and scatter and directly hit someone and splash everyone else.

    • @jonners606
      @jonners606 4 года назад +1

      @@EntmootVideos yeah I think so. New FAQ in Feb so worth keeping an eye out. Maybe you could do a run through of all the changes we get in the FAQs and break down the implications of them?

    • @EntmootVideos
      @EntmootVideos  4 года назад

      jonners606 I could... but those buggers are big! And very complicated, especially for beginners! I think faqs are probably best left for experienced players

    Pure limburger! It's cheesy and it stinks. Most of the gamers I know would play one game with you, and never again -- unless you spring this on other players in a tournament setting. I guess that's why I won't play tournaments. What you are doing, basically, is cheating.

    • @EntmootVideos
      @EntmootVideos  3 года назад +3

      I’ve played this at a couple of tournaments now, and each time I lost half my games, and had some very amusing ones too. Playing against them isn’t horrible, but requires a different approach to the game which can be very fun for players who play regularly.
      I like your hyperbole, it’s almost as bad as mine in my videos, but considering this is in the rulebook it’s far from cheating! Thanks for watching! Hope it gave you food for thought ☺️
