I grew up in Indianapolis. I remember laying in bed at night, with the windows open, we could hear the Sprint Cars at the Indiana State Fairgrounds during the Hoosier 100. This was back in the 60's and 70's. Back in those days. If you loved racing. You couldn't live in a better place.
I live in Germany and have heard about this type of racecars only by watching a piece on Mario Andretti (who quote "loves the dirt"). Having read about the sort of engines and horses they used in these utterly wild creations there is only one word: 'obscene'. It is a pity you won't be able to grasp how unbelievable this V8 Rodeo feels to our tamed senses over here :). Thanks.
Outstanding video of some of the class talent that has inhabited the ranks of U.S.A.C over the years, many of whom made the long trip to race down here in Australia. And very thankful for the opportunity to see them come over, even though we weren't much competition for them at the time, at least not in the Sprintcars, but we held our own in the Midgets. A great pleasure to watch. Thanks for posting.
Damn! These guys were tough! Many an accident that looked fatal...sure makes one think about the potential of not making a long career in this sport. Good classic filming from those years gone by. Long live the champs memories of sprint car racing.
Thank you for posting

Good stuff. When I was a kid.
Are all of these tracks in Indiana?
I'm guessing the 1st action shown in the film was at Salem?
