Yeah, 22 year old guy here, lost all my savings to gambling this past year, all my good financial decisions and investments are all gone. At this point, Im taking it as a new lease in life. Cold turkey for a month so far and I pray to god I never go back.
Good luck. I’m 1 year older than you and was sorta in the same position and I had to quit because I could not enjoy game days anymore. So I quit. Sometimes I find myself wanting to redownload and gamble but I try and ignore it. It’s just hard bc of the ads :/ , wishing you luck friend 🍀
I have gambled before, but I have never once felt any shred of joy from it. I hate it and always felt like I’m going to lose money even though I’m probably barely negative across my lifetime. I think there’s something wrong with my brain that I don’t get pleasure from the risk
It's not about the risk - it's about gambling in general just being stupid. I mean, take any casino game, remove money from it - and no one in the right mind would ever play them. I enjoy taking risks, but not when it's just a dumb risk with no point to it.
I've always been one where I never fully gambled. But even doing other things in games and stuff like if I lose $5 I already wanna kill someone like for me it's just like losing anything takes away anything that could be fun haha
I think when you’re raised with frugality it helps with this. Being raised by parents that threw money into everything including gambling and seeing how stoked they’d be when they won, and never seemed sad when they lost tens of thousands, really screwed with my perception on it.
but fr tho bro, choosing to gamble on gachas or casinos is just a "pick your poison" situation where you'll probably just end up losing money at the end far outweighing the satisfaction you felt from gambling Remember kids, don't let yourself get addicted to gambling in casinos AND in gachas!

I think a good few of the drugs you think of as horrible are not that bad and have nice benefits, while gambling is just completely horrible, manipulative, and is way more common than drug abuse. To be clear, there are plenty of addictive and life ruining drugs, but many of the non-addictive ones are pretty benign and safe in moderation. Alcohol is probably the drug most comparable to gambling in widespread use and harm over time.
I train people in diagnostic systems, and do a bit of sales. I had to escort/entertain some chinese visitors that included thw lab tech, manager, and two directors. I didn’t come back for the rest of the night because my brain freaked out so much over having won money and being nervous it was going to hack my brain. Luckily… I lost 600 bucks overall
