One other thing. He didn't have Mjolnir for those 5 years to tell him he was still worthy despite his failure. As soon as he gets his trusty hammer back he knows he is worthy and fights.

Very true. I don't wanna nitpick but I feel like the moment he summoned Mjolnir from the past perhaps didn't hit the audience as hard as it hit Thor. For us it was "Oh yay he got his hammer back" but it was so much more for Thor to realise he's still himself.
But, in my opinion, it makes that scene better on a rewatch.

And when Thor changed into his hero form and was still fat I cried again, he did not simply will the fat away in an instant.

I love fat Thor. I mean he lost everything, failed to stop Thanos and it just feels so human for him to suffer from depression. And he is a frigging god! And he is stil worthy. This is such a powerful message and my favourite character arc in MCU. I'm so happy they kept him that way until the end of the movie and I wouldn't complain if it took him some time to recover and get in shape. Unfortunately, from what Waititi said recently, we will probably not see fat Thor in Love and Thunder. Great video!

agreed he was hit the hardest out of all the survivors, Cap made an AA type of group to help others move on, IM started a family, Hulk "fixed" himself, BW stayed in contact with others to help the planet reorganize itself, Hawkeye became vigilante. They all found a new purpose in the 5 years that passed meanwhile Thor was unable to, imagine in the 1500 years of his life this probably the lowest he got

Not quite, Thor knew that he was a match for Thanos, he knew exactly that he was winning the fight, so he took his sweet time making sure Thanos suffers in his last moments.
But Thanos did the only thing, the right thing, to reach his goal, he willingly gave in to the chance of dying, to save half of the universe.

The scene in Infinity War where he speaks with his friend Rabbit sharing his life experience truly shows how much he's lost in his life which he's lived over a millennia. I cried and started rooting for him since then. Such a mighty guy, brought to knees several times and still chooses to fight is more than enough inspiration. No wonder he takes it upon himself for not saving the universe, just like Odin would have done it in his place. They're basically gods who're meant to protect everything.
Only way to satisfy all of us Thor fans is to see an even more powerful Thor taking upon the baddest villains all by himself. Please give it to us MCU lords

Back to where thor got it from in Thor : Dark World to prevent creating alternate timelines. Imagine Thor in the Thor Dark World not finding his hammer because Thor of endgame kept it😂😂😂

I love fat Thor. One of the best comedic changes to him. I also like how it fits his change after his defeat, and am greatful he didn't just become buff again when he got his hammer. I look forward to his redemption, getting fit again and overcoming his trama. :) go fat thor, you can do it!

I'm maybe a little bit late, but there's one more thing you could love about Thor in Endgame. When Cap says his famous "Avengers assemble" line, Thor is the first one doing the "war-scream". It shows that noone else wants to kill Thanos more than him.

I guess an entire good meaning can be defeated by people not being able to get over comedic relief.

I related to Thor so much. When Endgame came out I was on leave from work because of severe depression. Even on rewatch I still really felt for Thor. Depression is really crippling and makes you think that you’re good for nothing. It was so touching when Thor was able to talk to his mom. If only I could also talk to my mom again too. My Mom and my grandparents who raised me all passed away in a span of just 4 years and it really took a toll on me. Thor lost everything and that’s why I think Thor having depression made a lot of sense.
