@@neem33 lots of info from Dr. Stefani Kappel on this- she’s a cosmetics Derm but she used to be a Mohs surgeon. Growth factors makes things grow, which can be good or bad depending. Very impressive! You did your homework on this as you usually do. I just wanted to add that two different dermatologists said that you shouldn't use copper peptides with L-Ascorbic acid not because of possible irritation but because they will cancel each other out. Not just the vitamin C, the copper peptides will also be cancelled out. So I think in another video you said you were using a copper peptide serum in the morning and didn't see any results, that's why. I'm surprised you don't follow any dermatologists on RUclips! I highly recommend Dr. Shereene Idriss, Doctorly (two male derms) and Dr. Sam Ellis, well also Dr. Dray.

I am so impressed with the amount of preparation / research you put into this video. I’ve been using the Ordinary copper peptide in combination with azelaic acid, tretinoin, and/or lactic acid without adverse effect but frankly without visible benefits either. So thanks to this video I will most likely move on to peptides without copper which at least will remove the doubt about ingredient incompatibility.

I bought The Ordinary copper peptides and have cycled them into my skincare routine for 1-3 weeks at a time, varying between day and night applications. The first time I used them, I continued using my Vit C solution in the daytime, and just used the Cu peptides at night with my retinol products and saw noticeable improvement in skin discoloration, but that was at the very beginning of my mature skincare journey. Now that I've begun using products from The Agency and have seen the greatest results, I'm mainly cycling the Cu peptides into my routine until I finish them off and probably won't be repurchasing. I've considered having my husband finish them off as part of his skincare routine, but in all honesty he doesn't understand why anything more than a bar of soap is necessary for healthy skin and often forgets to utilize what I've already given him, LOL.

Hi Angie, I also liked the nerdy Science talk! I used a GHK - CU serum called Neel. I alternated it in the morning with vitamin C (so if I used vitamin C on Monday, I used the copper on Tuesday etc.) Another thing I would mention is that you can do copper supplementation orally - you can take a copper colloidal liquid such as Sovereign Copper Bio-Active Colloidal Copper. Some people swear by it improving not just their skin, but joints and pain, all kinds of things, and it’s basically harmless and inexpensive.

Needle-less Serum did nothing for my skin. On the other hand, CAIS is giving me smoother skin with more bounce. I use it first thing in the evening mixed with a HA serum for slip. I then wait several hours and apply my Curology as usual. I’m very happy with this copper peptides routine because I’m seeing a difference.

I have been using NIOD’s Cail for over a year and with the sale just bought 2 more tubes. It is very tiny, but spreads well, and the tube lasts over 3 months. It is supposed to help with volume in addition to aging skin.
I use it at night about an hour before I do my other skincare. Before I go to bed I use my retinol. I have never had any issues and my 78 year old skin is basically wrinkle free. However, who knows what works. I use a red light panel, microcurrent with the Ziip, and radio frequency with TriPolllar.

I'm 70. I wanted to try copper peptides (Ordinary). I don't have to rush through my morning skin care anymore, so I was using your protocol (C, ascorbic acid, CoQ10) early, then several hours later I'd do the copper peptide. Can't say I noticed anything, I decided the Vit C was my best option and I don't want anything to mess with it. I've heard only a handful (well, two) people who say they've given up Vit C for copper peptide. Not me though. Thank you for addressing this, I appreciate the time you spend do the research. ❤

Trying Dr. Pickarts now. Tried the Ordinarys, Biossance, etc. The only one comparable to Pickart's for me is Niod's (it's actually my favorite). Elasticity and firmness improvement is what I feel. I alternate copper peptide a.m. routine with an a.m. vitamin C routine. Med studies read indicate Vitamin C stays in system for 72 hours. So 1 day vitamin c routine, next day copper routine (I follow up copper with Matrixyl, amino acid serum and a bifida serum). Think skin quite possibly like nutrition: need variety of good stuff for optimal nutrition. Can't just eat fruit, or just eat veggies, or nuts or seeds, etc. If ya do, miss the benefit of all the other food groups. That's my approach to skincare: Retinols, copper peptides, aha and l-ascorbic acid. I just keep the copper peptide in a.m. and alternate days with l-ascorbic acid. (Timeless Vitamin C for years based on your recommendation).

I'm on my second bottle and, to be honest, I haven't seen any changes in my skin. I haven't had any irritation either, but i just wonder if it's doing anything. One RUclipsr swears by it and has replaced her ascorbic acid vitamin C serum with this, so she no longer uses vitamin C serum and uses her copper peptides in the morning instead. I still use my Timeless Vitamin C serum, but in the morning.

Agree that there isn’t yet scientific proof for copper peptide for anti- aging. However, I can buy a copper peptide serum for $31 (from The zordinary) that has glycerin and a number of other peptides in it. So I use it before my tretinoin in the evening. I have seen a dermatologist online state that copper peptide and tretinoin or a retinol work well together.

    Thanks for the video!
I've been using Derma-e's ultra lift serum with DMAE and copper peptides for over 2 years now, with occasional, usually short, breaks. It's blue, but the copper is listed in the ingredients as copper PCA, not the GKU version. I'm not a chemist and don't know what the difference is. I don't find it a miracle worker, by any means, but it seems to help with my wrinkles and sagging without drying my skin out or irritating it.
I first tried this Derma-e serum about 2 1/2 years ago because I found retinoid-type skin care too drying, so I was looking for alternatives that would help with sagging and wrinkles. I liked it without being wowed. Last winter I tried a retinoid-type product two or three times a week and used the Derma-e serum the other days. I was happy with the results of that schedule. I took a break from both this summer to try bakuchiol to see how it worked (disappointing). I started the Derma-e serum back up in mid-September and the retinoid/retinol products mid-November (slowly, again) as the last of my bakuchiol was used up. My face has now improved almost to its appearance before my bakuchiol trial, and I give the credit mostly to the Derma-e serum since there really hasn't been time for the retinoid/retinols to have much effect. For me, I think it's been one of these products that improves things a bit, then you don't notice much until you stop using it.

Copper PCA is a copper salt so it's not really a peptide in the bottle. The theory is that the natural GHK peptide in your body will bond with the copper and basically create the copper peptide on the fly.

The important thing to remember is that today many firms use PCA copper peptides, which are more stable but not as effective.
All the studies showing the great efficacy of copper peptides are not PCA (that a salt form, I believe).
Copper peptides must be blue. If they are not blue and they are not very blue then either there is little copper or it is the PCA form that is quite ineffective.
True Copper peptides CANNOT be used with vitamin C and other acidic substances. I would also be careful with Retinoids.
So you have to use them in different routines.
