Fantastic cover! I like the way you solved some of the tougher runs in Andy's original song. I've been trying to come up with a couple more comfortable ways to play it and you've given me some great ideas.
Thanks man! I'm curious what you mean "solved the tougher runs".. like which sections? Some of them are definite finger twisters but you can do it!
I think the main section I was referring to was the 3:03 ish area. But only in a visually, I can't tell by sound weather or not Andy actually played it the same way, which is awesome! I seem to remember another section that looked a little different to me, but for the life of me, can't remember where it was. (I guess it's possible that a couple of parts weren't as hard as I thought they were going to be after learning them). Returning, I have to again compliment you on the fact that this cover of yours is still one of, if not THE best cover here on RUclips, and it helped me greatly in learning the song for myself.

Thanks bro! Believe me if my bumass can figure it out I'm sure you can too hahaa.. I recommend using the app amazing slow downer... You can slow the songs speed instead of using a metronome.. makes it more fun to practice rather than a boring click.. give it a try!

Glad you're trying to tackle this! I mean ... Obviously take it slow. Break up the song into pieces and take your time with each one. Either use a metronome or use Amazing Slow Downer to slow down the song (ASD is cool because you can still practice along to the song, it's a lot more interesting than a click). The biggest thing I would say also, is take your time with figuring out which fingering works for you. In this song I found that making sure you're using your pinky is CRUCIAL. I learned early on using mostly the first 3 fingers but make sure you're training that stubborn pinky to work for ya. It's a little annoying but it really helps if youre using as much as your hands can give you. I hope this helps, good luck man!

@@Roam865 I tend to just read the tab and figure out the timing by listening over and over again just to keep the ear in good shape. It’s more of a personal preference but for the tricky bits I mean you don’t have to break the bank getting those programs, honestly you can slow down the song on RUclips to 0.75 speed, that usually slows it down enough for me to get down the exact timings if I’m having a hard time. I generally just stick with just reading the tabs tho. Hope that helps!

Then ultimate guitar has it where it plays the notes for me so alot of times if I'm I'm a different tuning I can still learn the song anyway, I play a Floyd rose Bridge so things like that just make it easier.

Hey david! is your guitar tuned to E standard for this song or E flat?
@@thechumma1 it’s in E standard! Andy James is actually a 7 string player so there’s the low B in there as well, but you don’t need that for the lead guitar parts in this song, only the rhythm

Please tell me the tuning
It's in standard tuning.. it's technically for a 7 string guitar, but 7th string is only used by the rhythm guitar, not lead. Can definitely learn it on 6 strings!
