Charlotte felt like a rushed 90 minute movie, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love each minute. Jun Maeda, who wrote Charlotte, writes shows that never feel long enough. His worlds are vibrant and creative, and their characters have a funny way of getting under your skin. These qualities seem incidental because of how they're always swept into a whirlwind of action, and before you know it, it's all over. Characters leave the moment you begin to care. The plot moves on right as new questions arise. The most common criticism you hear among his fans is "I wish there was more" but that's the point. It's a jarring feeling when you finish one of his shows, like waking up from a long dream and wanting to go back to sleep. Good dreams never feel long enough. Maeda is a brilliant story teller, I don't feel like he gets the credit he deserves, and I really look forward to his future projects.
Yes, Jun Maeda is indeed the best story writer I have ever known, but unfortunately I heard that he no longer wants to make anime stories because of the problems with anime kami sama ni Natahi.
Idk how people didnt love this anime
Probably because it was rushed but it’s honestly amazing what they were able to do in 13 episodes
Yeah that’s it’s biggest flaw is that it felt like a 24 ep anime compacted into 13. Still one of my all time favorites nonetheless
