Congratulations...you were fortunate enough to have been born when it was possible to own a home and vehicles while making an average income. That is not the case anymore. I'm 45 and have been lucky to have had great jobs on a high school education, but that is not the case anymore. Our kids will be paying back student debts until retirement and will never be able to afford a home. While the older generation complains about the younger generations being lazy and not wanting to work. I can't blame them....I wouldn't want to bust my ass for shit pay that can't even provide me the bare necessities in life.

I’ll say this-I was paid $5.41 from 87-94’. It went to 7.15$ by 94. I went to school and got my education and watched my salary grow. I worked hardddddt! Hard work has always been a component in the advancement of my personal self and ultimately my family. That has never changed. I think the reality of REALITY is a hard PILL to swallow. The internet and what’s seen on it is definitely different from REALITY. Praying for us all.

The last dude gave very much "since I brought a house 4-8 years ago when the cost of living wasn't out of control and a ran down looking house wasn't 400-600k,everyone who's struggling is automatically lazy"
Sure it's not a politicians job go force people to work but is IS Our politicians, lawmakers, president's job to create bills and legislation that helps people live. Keywork being LIVE. When you have millions of hard working, tax paying, honest Americans telling you over and over again that we're struggling to make ends multiple jobs you can't just label that as laziness
Wage is not keeping up with inflation, the price is rent is astronomically high, the quality of products we buy is be as good as it used to be, the quantity drastically shrunk and it cost thousands of dollars for an emergency trip to the hospital without insurance. Those are all things that lawmakers get paid to address and fix. But instead we have the right sucking trumps toes on a daily basis and profiting off MAGA's stupidity while the left just banks on fear tactics and false promises.
If jobs are only paying you 16-22$hr and monthly expenses are pushing 2-3k you can't "hard work" your way out of that. I'm sure that man did work hard but if we're getting it real he looks well into his late 30s- early 40s meaning he probably brought the cause in the 5-10 years ago when the prices of homes wasn't anywhere near as high as it is today.

      All true.
But there's NEVER been a time when the older generation didn't look down on the kids as lazy.
My brother and I used to work at a poultry farm as kids. We could spend twelve hours a day there and my dad would snort and say, "When I was your age I was there for 16 hours a day. And never even took a lunch break. Kids these days are just spoiled and soft!!"

Capitalism is not the problem.....unregulated and unchecked Capitalism is the problem. There has to be regulatory bodies in place to manage capitalism. Other countries have them, and they work. In my country there are unions, the price of medical care is regulated, there are consumer protection bodies.........etc. The system is still not perfect but at least Capitalistic interests are not allowed to run rampant and the basic minimum wage increase s every year.

    • @IGot7RevtinyArmyStayOnceBlink
      @IGot7RevtinyArmyStayOnceBlink 12 дней назад +1

Correct but every capitalistic society ends up with the same issues and ours is the leading and we see the problem. When you are in a society like this where money rules it will never be a way to truly put regulations or checks in place. Look what’s happening now with scotus and the presidency. The fools voted in all the same people with the same dumb view points. That was the checks and balances. Billionaires being expected to regulate themselves and others will never happen. So here we are. Capitalism is failing because no proper society can run like this under the dollar. Sad but true.

Due to work, I spend a lot of time in those countries, and yes---their quality of life is far superior to America's. And as a whole, the people are happier, healthier, and certainly better educated.
      BUT...
They're able to live like that ONLY because America does not live like that. From the 1950's onward, America poured trillions into defense. All to keep the Russian bear at bay...to prevent the Soviet Union from swallowing up Europe. Since we as America shouldered that burden, that meant those countries didn't have to, and could instead pour their money into social safety nets. While we were paying for aircraft carriers and nukes, they were paying for health care and education.
But had we not did what we did---they couldn't have done what they did.
This is why I always say that America is a great country---that allowed for even greater countries.

    • @Bitcoin1y
      @Bitcoin1y 12 дней назад

@@tompriceusmc 1. America's Defense Spending and European Social Safety Nets
True: After World War II, the U.S. did invest heavily in defense, especially during the Cold War, to counter the Soviet Union's influence. This included NATO, where the U.S. was (and remains) the largest financial contributor. This allowed many European countries to allocate more resources toward social programs, as their defense budgets were often smaller relative to GDP.
Debatable: While U.S. defense spending played a significant role in ensuring stability in Europe, it's not entirely accurate to claim that European countries owe their quality of life only to this. Europe also rebuilt itself post-WWII through strategic policies (e.g., the Marshall Plan, strong labor protections, and industrial policies) and cultural priorities emphasizing social welfare.
      2. Happier, Healthier, and Better Educated
True: Many European countries consistently rank higher than the U.S. in indices of happiness, health outcomes, and education quality. Examples include Scandinavian countries and the Netherlands. Universal healthcare, affordable education, and robust social safety nets contribute to this.
Debatable: Happiness and quality of life are subjective and influenced by cultural values. Not everyone might agree that these rankings reflect the full picture, particularly for individuals who prioritize different aspects of life.
      3. "America is a great country-that allowed for even greater countries"
Perspective: This is a subjective conclusion. America's military and economic dominance post-WWII did shape the global order, but it oversimplifies the dynamic. Countries like Japan and Germany also became "greater" because of their own policies, innovation, and culture, not solely because of U.S. protection.
      What’s Missing:
Global Contributions: It's worth noting that countries outside the U.S. and Europe (e.g., Canada, Australia, and others) also achieve high quality of life without relying on American defense spending.
Internal U.S. Policy Choices: The U.S. chose to prioritize defense spending over social welfare-other countries, like those in Europe, made different choices. This was as much about domestic political and cultural priorities as global strategy.

      @@Bitcoin1y
      1) "it's not entirely accurate to claim that European countries owe their quality of life only to this"
I never said that. I never said that there quality of life was attribute ONLY to America's defense spending. I said America defense spending made it possible for them to direct money elsewhere. Obviously that's not the ONLY reason they have a better quality of life, but it is A primary reason. Again "A" primary reason, not even THE primary reason.
      2) "It's worth noting that countries outside the U.S. and Europe (e.g., Canada, Australia, and others) also achieve high quality of life without relying on American defense spending."
And I never said otherwise. I never said EVERY country owed their quality of life to Americas military spending. We were clearly talking about Europe, so I didn't need to stipulate that Canada and Australia didn't owe their quality of life to us.
I think you found absolutes in what I said that weren't here. But thank you for reading and replying either way.

People have to have debt either for the the school or the trade. I order for us to not have debt is we school should be free as it was before segregation ended. If you want a “good job” you will have to pay for something. Unless your arguing those who can’t afford better should just remain doing the bottom of the barrel work then later telling them they should’ve gotten a trade or educated when they are frustrated? Ignoring the problem which is capitalism is why we are here and people like you are the problem.

    • @tompriceusmc

"Don't want debt, then don't spend money you don't have. "
Thats not how America works. Nor will it ever be.
Look at the recession of 2008. And that wasn't just people spending money they didn't have---it was massive companies and banks spending money they didn't have.
And then we the tax payers had to bail them out. Because the banks were....wait for it..."too big to fail."
And thats America in a nutshell---where the billionaires and banks can rely on socialism to bail them out... but in order for that to happen, the common man must toil under capitalism and constantly be told that socialism is bad.

Even the construction jobs where I live and landscaping ALL pay 7.25! And if you ask for $10 an hour they will gaslight you and tell you to be a Dr if you want that much or say "no wonder your broke" or " your lazy grrrrr imagine building house for rich people gone 10 hours a day for $ 60! A day! Trying to do the right thing and working a REAL job but not being able to afford accar or even rent and have to live in the projects but my cousin works at a furniture store and sleeps and texts ALL day long practically and gets $22 an hour and barley does anything ... She's pretty! That's why! Her first car was biufgt for her and college was paid for by my uncle I got zero help and ended up nowhere because of it and work 100x harder than she ever has...that's one example! 160 hours $1170! Fuck everything
