Im 26. Listened to death and grind at 16. Got into hardcore around 17 or 18. I had no idea this kinda hardcore was around. Its like grind without the heavy metal influence. God damn this is fucking great.
When I was in highschool I met this guy who will later become a great friend to this day, introduced me to music of powerviolence. Saw his Spazz patch and asked what is that. Told me it's a band and I looked them up. I was hooked on the noise. 👌🏽 Powerviolence for life
Love this album. Dan was my roommate in AZ 15 yrs ago. Wish I new how to get a hold of that dude. One chill dude. Not what you'd think when you see these guys live, haha.
I was in jail for about 3 months with Kevin jandu some old head use to skate for flip.. he use to run with these South Bay scum bags had plenty a story to tell me .. South Bay HardCore ~~~~~~~
One of my biggest regrets is not making the trip to see them play live. I have had dreams that they got together and were playing a basement in Denver haha
fuck I"m so speechless.... I never really studiously listened to powerviolence except for 9 shocks terror... but this... it's fucking nice. I like the dual vocals. The lyrics too.
NecroSmokist I want to do some YOUTH KORPS shows this summer with Bauer and the rest of the guys from our '82 demo.Chris Dodge would approve,he liked YK a lot.
Youth Korps are siccck. No disrespect whatsoever but it's weird to see a member of such an influential band tooting his old band's horn in YT comments haha.
I used to listen to this to scare my roommate. Now, compared to the overproduced talentless shit people listen to, it soothes me. I do yoga to this shit. And it scares the neighbors. Goodbye, small talk.
Psssh that's nothin, I go from not listening to ANYTHING, I mean like TOTAL silence, and then BAM I have a fuckin ALBUM PLAYING MOTHERFUCKERS!!! And when I'm sick of that, you guessed it pricks, TOTAL SILENCE AGAIN!!
Mental health illness runs deeep in all genres of hard music ...but ..power violence fan boys take the cake as being the ultimate total weirdos... 90 percent of the them anyways lol . * Side note.. the pitch shift part on one of the first few tracks is soo killer and mega infulential
Guy: puts on a SPAZZ album to fuck to hoping it will create the illusion of endurance because he can bone through it's entirety. Guy: Also brags about being able to screw for an entire record, yet fails to specify this only applies to powerviolence records.
I do dislike how the genres be it punk variation or metal need for differentiating them selves. Label themselves is closer to what I mean. I dgaf if you're a grindcore holiday or hard time listening to thrash/punk? time of stuff .
i definitely hear some ABBA influences
Haha
Me too!
And a bit of Backstreet Boys.
🤣
A little zz top in there too.
Im 26. Listened to death and grind at 16. Got into hardcore around 17 or 18. I had no idea this kinda hardcore was around. Its like grind without the heavy metal influence. God damn this is fucking great.
It only gets better
It's powerviolence, a lot of influences in it; metal, hardcore, sludge, punk, crust
Beauty of power violence

Mental health illness runs deeep in all genres of hard music ...but ..power violence fan boys take the cake as being the ultimate total weirdos... 90 percent of the them anyways lol . * Side note.. the pitch shift part on one of the first few tracks is soo killer and mega infulential

It's funny that people can make such short album that has the hole duration of an single Drone Metal/Long Progressive Metal song 🤣
The Complete And Utter Eradication Of All Generic Pop-Punk's intro reminds me of Helmet.
