Would be nice if you can do a video on transit systems in other countries in Europe or Asia. Great informative video by the way.

CT Rail Shore Line East extension to Providence, Rhode Island with transfers to Amtrak and MBTA, that would be legit!!!

Amazing video; try MBTA, SEPTA, MARC and possibly the MTA NYC subways

The M8s used on Shore Line East are newer ones that are owned by ConnDOT alone, not jointly with NY. They are not used on the New Haven Line. They have had their third rail shoes removed, and therefore can not operate into Grand Central Terminal, or anywhere west of Pelham.

I thought all the M8s are part of a larger fleet that are jointly owned with the MTA? As in maybe they're not used by MTA but they are still owned by them? Wasn't really clear when I was researching.

@@DTransit You are right, he is wrong. CTDOT bought more to supplement the fleet and add more NHL express trains. The newer ones were just put into service wherever, not placed in certain spots. SLE uses 12 random M8 cars from the pool, some of which are MTA owned.

It was never called the "H&NH". Also, they didn't build the line to Boston; the part between Boston and Springfield was constructed by the Boston & Albany Railroad.

Thanks for the comment! I did some more digging around - prior to the NYNH&H, there were two railroads: the New York and New Haven railroad (which owned the portion from NY to New Haven) and the Hartford and New Haven (H&NH) Railroad that owned and built the route from New Haven to Springfield via Hartford.
Let me know what you think!
